The delicate padding of light footsteps on sand, a sound almost like petals falling, twined itself through Idris's ears even as she spoke. Her words finished, she found her eyes drifting alertly towards the sand dunes that lined the edges of the beach on the Renegade side, scruffy with a few tattered remnants of marram grass. Soon enough, a gleaming white figure emerged, slipping slowly but neatly through those hair-like filaments.
The small female moved as if in a sad dream, but she drew herself up nevertheless when facing the two strangers, though not until after greeting Anakaros.
"Hello, love," the rey said, and Idris knew she was seeing the other part of the alphas of the Renegade pack, Nuri, as small and bright as Anakaros was large and dark. She was briefly tempted to rise again, but the alpha had given her permission to sit, and Nuri did not seem inclined to put much emphasis on formality, so she remained seated.
"I'm sorry it took me so long, I was kind of preoccupied. You two look as though you're from the Warrior's Realm. How's Serena?"
Idris bowed her head, low enough to indicate respect, but not so long that it became sycophantic. When she raised it, her gaze was clear and friendly, though stopping just short of familiar. These were alphas, after all, ones with an old grief on their minds, and ones she had only just met. Perhaps one day they would have fought side by side in enough battles for her to count them as friends, but for now they were still to be accorded a formal respect.
"We are indeed, and you must be Nuri. I'm Idris verch Rhonwen, and this is my cadet in training, Liam. Serena is as hale and hearty as ever." In her normal vernacular, had Idris been speaking with a casual acquaintance, she might have said "full of piss and vinegar," and the words had lingered somewhere in her mind, but she'd discarded them. An image of Serena as she'd last seen her popped into her mind unbidden--hale, hearty, yes, but also bowed by the weight of the battle to come, of her daughter's transgressions.
"The war grinds on her, as on us all," she added, finally, more quietly. "But that stone core would take much more to wear down."

The first person to recognize my presence was Anakaros. He immediately closed the distance between us and kissed my nose, nuzzling it as well. I returned his affections and looked into his eyes. I could tell that he was hurting as much as I was and I drew strength from the sight of him strong, despite our pain. He turned back to the strangers deep in thought. His mind was working out a war, and it was obvious that he was anxious to get things into gear. But being the amazing person he was he would wait until I was familiar with the situation at hand. I looked at the others as well, and saw that the white male was bowing his head in respect. I dipped my snout in return, acknowledging his gesture. The larger fae did the same, but instead of remaining silent she introduced herself and her companion. "We are indeed, and you must be Nuri. I'm Idris verch Rhonwen, and this is my cadet in training, Liam. Serena is as hale and hearty as ever. The war grinds on her, as on us all, but that stone core would take much more to wear down."I nodded, remembering what I had heard of her daughter's betrayal. Some of the grief over my children slipped onto my face before I could call it back. It was brief, but it was enough that anyone looking would have caught it. I strained my visage back into one of control and calm. "Indeed I am. It's very nice to meet both of you. We pride ourselves on hospitality so if there is anything you need, just ask. However in the mean time I can tell by your faces that this is no light conversation. Please, continue with your planning, just so long as you explain to me what I've missed," I looked at the group of Warriors expectantly, ready to be filled in. I would not be idle in this war, and I would certainly not fail like I had in the last war. My sister would die, and all remnants of Cesaru's ilk along with her. That hateful b*tch took my children and it would be the last thing she ever did. Determination set in as I thought up as many ways as I could to end this. ooc//: sorry she's so depressed lol [/blockquote]

Liam took note on the casual atmosphere he suddenly felt. The white fur on Nuri reminded him of his own mother. Yet she was much smaller and didn't have those bold marks around her eyes. Yet when Liam was younger sometimes she'd have that same look in her eye... He wondered why. For Liam didn't know his twin brother died at birth. Something within the two Rex's eyes very similar. They both had this drowning in sorrow and grief expression. Liam slowly turned to look into Idris' eyes also, to see her expression was more rock-hard. While to them, Liam's was clear. Not as to clueless, but empty from any overwhelming emotions. Other than pure happiness toward his rank factor and the Realm. "Mm, yes, a small group would be ideal." Liam forced himself to focus back on the conversation. Pushing nostalgic pup hood thoughts into the back of his mind. Obviously they were still talking of the Revolt. To save their pups. It sounded like it would be a high rank mission, something very important that couldn't afford to fail. Plus it was against one of Traum's biggest enemies. The thought honestly roughed up Liam's mind, but it still sounded intriguing. Once again Liam was introduced to the Alphess. That huge smile grew a bit bigger. As he nodded toward Nuri's respects, tail wagging over his back with that curl from his father. Asking of Serena caused another spark of interest. To Liam, Serena was family. It seemed to be a growing tradition within Benjamin's family. His head tilted a bit to the side as Idris expressed how troubling the war really was. He felt foolish for not fully understanding how troubling the war was. He knew for a fact, it was hard, it was a mess and many wolves died due to war. The conflict of wolves, emotional and physically. Seeing as the some of the strongest wolves on Traum, emotionally be hurt right before him was a swell example. That smile of his turned into a confused frown. He continued to watch and let Idris do the talking.

I was feeling antsy, and while I suspected that was normal, I just didn't feel right. Something was off. I recognized the sensation, but I was positive that I could control it until this meeting was over. This meeting was rather important, so I was sure I could keep my head. 'We are indeed, and you must be Nuri. I'm Idris verch Rhonwen, and this is my cadet in training, Liam. Serena is as hale and hearty as ever. The war grinds on her, as on us all. But that stone core would take much more to wear down.' While I was in deep concentration, I never missed the words exchanged. I didn't respond to this, though, I simply waited for the right time. Just waiting for my mate and the Warriors to get slightly aquintted before we moved further along. 'Indeed I am. It's very nice to meet both of you. We pride ourselves on hospitality so if there is anything you need, just ask. However in the mean time I can tell by your faces that this is no light conversation. Please, continue with your planning, just so long as you explain to me what I've missed.' "No, my dearest, this is no light conversation indeed," I rumbled, my tone turning in a thoughtful sort of way. I let my gaze slide over the two Warriors, taking in Liam's attentive face, watching his mouth slip into a frown as he regarded the discussion. I looked back to Idris, drew in a deep breath, and then spoke. "I have quite a few wolves in mind for this expedition. Myself, obviously, and Nuri. Xecir, my second hand man. Chevy would provide a great force..." That one was a wolf even larger than I, and that was saying something. "And that makes four. Hm." I paused for a second, and then I turned to Nuri. "What do you think? Valerius or Firvatoriel?" I asked her, giving two names of our Hunters. I couldn't decide between the two, and who better to ask than she? ooc:// I have this nagging feeling that if the previous war was mentioned--more specifically the name Cesaru--he's gonna act funny. Either explode or just act strange. I just thought I'd include this, in case it can be incorporated. :3

As the plot began knitting itself more thickly around the little group, Idris found herself wishing she had a moment to take Liam aside. There would be time, of course, once this meeting was over and she was free to continue his training, but for now it would have been both uncouth and unwise to try to exchange whispered messages in front of the Renegade alphas.
Nevertheless, she turned to him and did her best to catch his eye. She could see the first seeds of a certain thoughtfulness expressed on his normally effusive features, and she gave a quiet, significant nod, eyes still locked with his. Hopefully he'd understand what she meant: we can talk more about this later, you're doing well, there's a lot left unsaid here.
Even if it weren't for the need to rehash this meeting, she'd want to get started on their one-on-one training. As the war crept steadily nearer on muffled, gargantuan feet, Idris was becoming more aware of needing to plan for afterward. She still believed fiercely in the ability of right to win--as long as she had strength in her body, she could not fail to believe it, feeling that the good earth and her form were somehow one--but she still knew there was a chance they might fail. If that happened, even if they had protected Liam and others like him from direct participation in battle, they would still need to know how to defend themselves.
"I have quite a few wolves in mind for this expedition. Myself, obviously, and Nuri. Xecir, my second hand man. Chevy would provide a great force..."
Alert but not over-stretched, Idris snapped her head back to attention on Anakaros, listening attentively to his listing of the party's members. Aside from the alphas, of course, she didn't know them, but Anakaros had gotten his reputation as a military leader. She had provided her few thoughts and recommendations, and the information The Realm had; she wouldn't interject herself in his planning.
"What do you think? Valerius or Firvatoriel?"
All eyes quietly turned to Nuri.
((OOC: Hmm...Idris wasn't around then.... *tries to figure out how to include it* Also *squeals* eeeeeeeeeeee pick Firva!!!?! ^.^ ^.^))

"No, my dearest, this is no light conversation indeed,"
I nodded my understanding and sat down, ready for a long and dreary conversation. I took this time to examine the two Warriors that stood before me. Idris was obviously the elder, and the leader of this little group. She also carried herself in a way that suggested higher rank. Someone more sure of herself, and more confidence would be someone with more experience. Overall she looked trustworthy, but you could never tell. Then there was Liam. He was closer to my stature but looked like a force to be reckoned with. He also seemed to be extremely nervous. I smiled at how young he was, and how eager he seemed to be to impress Idris. Serena was doing a great job with her Realm and I was glad that she was still in control. I snapped back to Anakaros when I heard him take in a deep breath.
"I have quite a few wolves in mind for this expedition. Myself, obviously, and Nuri. Xecir, my second hand man. Chevy would provide a great force... and that makes four. Hm."
I was surprised that he included me but at the same time I was sure that he knew he wouldn't be able to leave me behind. He turned to me to ask my opinion on the last member of the party.
"What do you think? Valerius or Firvatoriel?"
I frowned, thinking this one over. I trusted them both and believed that both were capable. But I hadn't seen much of Valerius lately, and that worried me slightly. I looked at 'Karos and made my decision. 'Firvatoriel. I think that he would make an excellent addition to this team of yours. Now where are we going?" I said with a new light in my eyes. I really didn't care where we were going, just as long as we did something. This war needed to come to an end, and I was sure that whatever we were doing would help that along. "And what will be the role of the other packs in this little escapade? The leaders of the packs against Dragonuv should meet soon, to discuss tactics."
I was unaware if this had already happened, seeing as I had drawn away in my own little world for the past couple of months. Hopefully when we were alone 'Karos would explain everything to me in great detail, and I would once again be able to lead our pack into war.

Talk statics and plans and what not, cause at the moment Liam is young and new to all this. He's here to observe and learn from Idris and the leaders. So, please go on without me. I'll reply once something is directed to Liam or something haha <33 hope you don't mind.

I think that she would make an excellent addition to this team of yours. Now where are we going?’ I nodded, my eyes focused on the vast ocean as I took in her decision. In all reality, I’d been leaning toward her; her tracking skills had proved to be up to par when I’d first met her, when she and I came upon a Dhole. He had been particularly strange in both appearance and demeanor, but he too made his home here. My thoughts didn’t linger on Pariah long, though, for we had far more important things to discuss. My eyes flashed back to my white Queen, and I recognized the new light that came into her green eyes. It was just the simple fact that now we had something to do….For so long we’d gone without being able to do a thing. We’d worried together long nights and nothing had come of it. We had no plans, nothing to soothe our fears. Now we could make up for every one of those long nights. “The Crystal Stream is where they are headquartered. We will have to pass through the Dusty Moon Trails, where it is possible we may encounter a few of them, but they will more than likely be centered by the stream.” I couldn’t wait to get my jaws around their throats…. ‘And what will be the role of the other packs in this little escapade? The leaders of the packs against Dragonuv should meet soon, to discuss tactics.’ Now this, I did not know the answer to, although I did know my opinion of it. My eyes moved to Idris who would probably be much more informed on this than I was. I’d known that we’d deal only with the Revolt, and we had no other hand in any other aspect of the war, but would any other force play a role in this? Would Lucifers or Enchanted decide to involve themselves? As far as I knew, they had no connection with the Revolt…. My eyes moved from Nuri to Idris as I spoke. ”As far as I know, it is only us that are involved with this. And when I spoke with Serena, I made it clear that we were not to get involved with any other aspect of the war. We will fight against the Revolt, do what we need to do, and then fall back. Serena told me that the other packs had the other situations handled. Does this information still hold?” I directed this toward Idris, now. I had no idea what their plans were, nor did I much cared. Perhaps I would had cared before, but I could hardly summon up the energy to deal with this, much less anything else. It may sound easy to you, but when you’re in this kind of situation for real, it’s utterly exshauting. “We will set out as soon as possible. Perhaps tomorrow, if I can get the whole force together. I want to end this now, before anything….Before anything happens.” It was a bit difficult to say that last bit, and I had to swallow before I could go on. My eyes lingered briefly on Liam, who’s reminder of a young, innocent-like attitude made my eyes flash away. This would end, I would make sure of it. Ooc:// I’m thinking about ending my end of the war ASAP. I’ll probably make a thread with Crouse soon and get the ones involved (that’ll me, Ash, V, Thistle, and Free maybe? Not sure, I’ve been meaning to send a PM out) in that thread. I just haven’t got around to it yet. But yeah, just to throw that out there. ^^

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,534,true] | [atrb=background,http://i312.photobucket.com/albums/ll347/MissJane_08/Wolf%20Charries/idris-middle.png]
There was a palpable change in the air. One moment, the Renegade alphas had seemed deeply dispirited. Anakaros was operating in a dream, doing his job, but doing it seemingly without hope or passion, an automaton of his former self. Nuri, in the mean time, had been exuding a sense of bitter regret and hopelessness. For obvious reasons, Idris had not had pups of her own, and did not intend to; Karos and Nuri's depression was deeply sympathetic, though, even though she had never had their experience.
With the pieces of the plan falling into place, though, the two were brightening up. Not becoming cheerful, exactly, but literally brightening from within, their eyes showing more color and fire, their stances growing more firm and commanding. It was not difficult to see that finally having something to DO was helping them both, or that the little details of making a plan--choosing fighters and trackers, for instance--were a lifeline to order their suddenly chaotic lives. They threw names back and forth, of Renegade pack members Idris had never met--she felt a brief pang of guilt, there; shouldn't a Major know all her allies?--and then Nuri uttered a question that immediately sucked the mahogany fighter back into the conversation.
"And what will be the role of the other packs in this little escapade? The leaders of the packs against Dragonuv should meet soon, to discuss tactics."
Anakaros, evidently, was like-minded. This was, perhaps, unsurprising, given how long they had been mates. That line of thought was briefly diverting. Idris caught her eyes growing a little unfocused, as she listed a timeline of femmes in her mind: Olwen, first and foremost, always, and then Luetta, Lakiya, and Sascha. All but Sascha had exited her life too quickly to reach such a perfect bond; Idris didn't care to lay wagers on what Sascha would choose to do, when it came to it. These two, though, could seemingly communicate on a deeper level even within their sorrow. She envied them that, but not their losses.
”As far as I know, it is only us that are involved with this. And when I spoke with Serena, I made it clear that we were not to get involved with any other aspect of the war. We will fight against the Revolt, do what we need to do, and then fall back. Serena told me that the other packs had the other situations handled. Does this information still hold?”
A heavy brown head nodded, belying its size with the briskness of its movement. A quick half-grin finished shaking Idris out of her own reverie; this was a time to encourage them into fiery action and keep up their momentum.
"We'll take on our bogeymen, and you'll have yours," she responded. "In the unlikely event that you face defeat or damaging retreat, send us word, though. It would do more damage to our entire cause to have our backs unguarded than to have to expend unexpected energy."
And she wouldn't mind seeing battle, herself, though she knew she'd have her hands full soon enough. She gave another, more reassuring smile, letting it spread across her full face. It wasn't the kind of smile that creased the corners of her eyes and made them gleam, but she didn't give that smile all too often. Have to keep up the momentum, keep up the energy. All in all, Idris preferred combat to diplomacy, but she had promised Serena she would do her best.
"I have full faith in your abilities, though, and facing the disorder of the Revolt, I think you'll be in and out like an otter in water. What are a few post-adolescent punks with a chip on their shoulders to the wolves who crushed Cesaru?"
((OOC: I managed to make a reference to it! Woo me! Lu: yeah, I was starting to worry about finding ways to include him, so that's fine. I look forward to them interacting more in other threads, though, and maybe at the end of this one. Sunneh: check plus! Let's get this show moving.))
