Lucifer’s Family
Followers of Satan The Bloodlusters The Destructive Creatures -A Family- Lucifer's Pack are all demons and devils. Satan's army. Blood-lust runs in these creatures. The demons of murder run strong in their hearts and minds. The taste of blood drives these beasts. So much evil dwells here. Yet one thing stands above all else, one thing that drives these creatures. It is not of blood, murder, nor even rape. It is the family bond that this pack shares. They may be the darkest of the land- but what makes them even more deadly is they are no longer individual creatures, but one destructive force. Meet Your Family
Title SpecificationThe Royal Four-- The Royal Family. This family is lead by four leaders instead of one or two. All four are responsible for what happens, and though the King has the final say- he does not do anything without talking to the other three first.
†
His Royal Highness;; The King. Most often he is called "Father" or "The Father". His final say is law. It is his responsibility to watch over the entire pack, every group and every wolf in his Family. It it his responsibility to make sure everything is running smoothly. The only power he commands that his fellow leaders do not- is the power to Banish a member, and the power to declare war.
Her Royal Highness;; The Queen. More commonly she is known as "The Mother" or "Mother" to the rest of the pack members. She has just as much power as her husband- but usually she is the one who keeps and eye on the The Council members.
The Royal Heirs;; These wolves are the sons and daughters of the King and Queen. They do not have divine power yet, but are learning to become rulers of their own someday. Normally the first born male is the heir to the throne, his first born fae shall become the Queen's second, and the second born male the Kings Second. This is always subject to change though.
The Kings Second;; The King's Second is his right hand man. He carries out all orders issued to him, and is more often than not either the Kings Brother, or his closest friend. The Second has all power the King has, including granting ranks; though he is normally in charge of The Legion- and is sometimes called "The Fist of Lucifer."
The Queens Second;; The Queen's Second is as close to the Queen as anyone could get. Normally she is the King's sister- or a very close friend to the Queen herself. Just as much a warrior as her mate, she instead is normally in charge of overseeing the ongoing of the wolves of The Castellan.
The Royal Pups;; These wolves have been born the Royal Seconds. Though they do not have the authority or power of their parents, they are still Royalty. Normally, if the King and Queen do not have any children, these pups will take over their ranks. If not, they will normally become Seconds, once their parents die.
The Council--Being part of the council is a dangerous place to tread. Unlike many regimes, The Council is not the final say, and they can not "vote" out their leaders. These wolves are the eyes and ears of the pack- and they speak with their Royalty to make sure that nothing ever goes missed.
†
Maestro;; The Maestro, or Master, is the direct line of communication between the pack members and the Royal Four. If a pack member has a problem, or a dilemma, he or she will come to the Maestro first to see which of the Royals they need to see. The Maestro is also the one who reports on a nightly basis with the Royals, and lets them know what has happened throughout the day.
Scholler;; The Scholler is the record keeper of the pack. Usually a wolf of very high intelligence and excellent memory, these wolves must remember everything that has happened in the pack every day. They are the one the members and Royalty go to when they need information, or even a reminder of histories and crimes past committed.
The Legion--These wolves are the backbone of the pack. They are individual groups of fighters and warriors that make sure the pack remains safe. It is rumored even that a network of spies lies within these ranks- though the wolves rumored to be in this network neither confirm nor deny the truth of this.
†
Templar;; Templar are the highest rank of Warriors inside the entire pack. Usually lead by the Second himself, these beasts are the most skilled at various forms of fighting. It is not often that a Templar gets bested in any form of fighting or verbal combat.
Crusader;; There are much more Crusader's than there are Templar's. These wolves are the fighters of the land. They are the one's who possess enough skill they can defend their family in times of war and battle- but they do not have the skill or expertise to be warriors like the Templar's.
Vassal;; This group of wolves is the most mysterious out of the entire pack. Not much is known about them, and even they are trained not to say anything about themselves. These wolves are the spies for the Family- still though no one knows where they get their order's from.
Judas;; The most demented of all the positions, Judas Wolves are the torturers of the Family. If ever there is a time where information is needed, they are the ones who can get it. These wolves always deliver, and are usually the most twisted and sickest out of the entire Family.
The Castellan--These are the more "normal" members of pack life. The hunters, the mothers, the offspring, even the few healers are here as well. Don't think this group of wolves is the feint of heart though, every creature will protect their family with their very lives.
†
Provost;; The Provost are guards for the pack. They are lower than both the Templars and the Crusader's- but a lot of wolves take this position because it always them to be closer to their families. These fighters are the last line of defense if all else fails.
Artisan;; Artisans are the scouts- they are not as trained as the Vassal's, but are almost as good. They monitor the pack lands daily, checking scent markings, listening for calls from other wolves. The only big rule of being an Artisan is that you are never allowed to leave the pack grounds- while on duty.
Zealot;; The Zealot is the lead hunter out of the entire pack. He is the one who runs the hunting parts- and he is commanded only by the King himself. There is usually only one Zealot, maybe two, but he or she is the best out of the best when it comes to stalking and catching prey.
Diaymos;; These wolves make up the hunting party. They take their commands from the Zealot only. They are skilled in hunting and tracking their prey. It is a very strict positron, and most of all Banished members have been Diaymos- usually because they do not listen to orders and cost the Family a meal.
Alchemist;; The Alchemist is the lead Healer in the entire pack. He is in charge of making sure all who are injured are taken care of. Usually he or she has a deep knowledge of the arcane and mystical properties. A lot of these wolves because either extremely power- or die at an early age from exhaustion.
Monk;; Monk's work directly under the Alchemist. They normally do not have the same arcane powers so instead these wolves rely heavily on herbs and plants, as well as a deep knowledge of the wolf skeletal structure to heal their patients. Usually only one of the various Monk's get special lessons from the Alchemist, to get ready for the next step of their abilities.
Ronin;; Like all packs, Lucifer's too has puppies. Unlike others though, they do not coddle the mother's of these offspring. The whelps themselves are allowed the play and half fun for the first few months of life- before they begin their training. Most pups begin as Artisan's and Provost's to learn the ways of fighting. When still young and unable to learn, and the pack is away, they are taken care of by the Elder's.
The Fallen--These wolves have been cast away from the ongoing of daily pack life. They are no longer looked to for help in times of need and are often the last to eat at pack hunts. Most of these members are no longer trusted, and most do not have a say in Pack Meetings.
†
Elders;; Lucifer's is not like many other packs. The elders are not looked to for help and guidance any longer. In this pack's eyes- if you can not fight, you don't have a place with us. Sad- but it is the circle of life. Usually these members are the puppy sitters when the rest of the pack is away or fighting.
Cowards;; These are what some call the Omega's of a pack. They are cowardly, and most often got to this rank by either losing a fight or running away from a challenge. To most of the pack, these members are not wolves any longer- but just pests.
Banished;; You could have done anything, but if it was the wrong thing to do you will land in this category- usually it has to do with disobeying a direct order, or harming a member of the Family. These wolves are banished from the family, from the pack. All members of the pack have direct orders to kill any Banished Member on site- without warning or waiting for an explanation.
Outsiders;; These wolves have been rumored as looking for a place inside of Lucifer's Family. They either have not spoken to the Royal Four to gain acceptance, or they have not yet been accepted. They are at the moment still Outsiders of the family, and are sitting at a very dangerous position.
Number of Kin;; This is the number of wolves currently a member of the pack- of the family. This includes everyone from His Royal Highness to the Cowards. The Banished and The Outsiders are not counted in this number.

Know the Code
________________________________________ вор в законе A Little Bit of History Although Georgia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Ukraine, Chechnya and Russia have long had criminals and bandits operating in the vast peripheral areas of the nation, during the disorder of the Russian Revolution of 1917, armed gangs proliferated until they were a very significant factor in society. This became known as the vorovskoy mir or "thieves' world".
As the police and court system were re-established in the Soviet Union shortly after the 1917 revolution, the NKVD nearly completely exterminated the criminal underworld. However, it was in the prison camps (or Gulag) of Stalin that a new organized group of top criminals arose, the vory v zakone, or "thieves in law."
The "thieves in law" formed as a society for mutual support within the prison camps, "who govern the dark gaps in Soviet life beyond the reach of the KGB". They adopted a system of collective responsibility, and swearing to a code of "complete submission to the laws of criminal life, including obligations to support the criminal ideal, rejection of legitimate employment (must support oneself through criminal enterprises) and refusal to participate in all political activities." As an example, while incarcerated, a Vor must refuse all work nor assist the warden/correction officers in any way, as the thieves' code states that: "Your own prison you shall not make." For example, if an inmate walks past a guard, and the guard asks him to ring the dinner bell, the convict must refuse or he will be judged by his fellow inmates and found guilty of assisting his jailers. The Vors organize their own courts and have trials governed by the code of 'thieves honor and tradition'.
Acceptance into the group is often marked by specific tattoos, allowing all member of the criminal world to instantly recognize a "thief in law". Most prison inmates are tattooed (by other inmates) to indicate their rank within the criminal world, noteworthy criminal accomplishments and places of former incarceration. For example, a tattoo of one cat tells that the criminal robs alone while multiple cats indicate that he has partners during robberies. Reportedly, "while the Communist Party had a steadfast grip on government and society, the Vory had something of a monopoly on crime."
After World War 2, the vory in the GULAG system were weakened by the so-called Bitch Wars - a gang war between pure vory and the so-called cyka [сука] ("bitches"). The 'cyka' were former members of the criminal underworld who had broken the thieves' code by agreeing to join the Soviet army and fight against Nazi Germany during World War 2 (in exchange for being freed from prison). [In Dare to Dream, the "Cyka" or "Bitches" are the Solokov family- or so expressed by Kirill, King of Lucifer's.] By joining the army, they violated the Thieves' Code which expressly forbids assisting authority in any way. After the end of the war, thousands were re-arrested again for new crimes and were placed at the very bottom of the criminal hierarchy in prison, treated with the same lack of respect shown to police informants and victims of prison rape. Since most 'cyka' were tough, life long criminals and assassins hardened by the experience of brutal combat during World War 2, they decided to murder all the 'pure vors'. This resulted in so called Bitch Wars which lasted for decades. Due to a large number of 'cyka', most gulags were divided into two separate zones: one for 'cyka' and one for 'vors'.
After the breakup of the Soviet Union in the 1990s, the vory assumed a leading role within the Russian criminal hierarchy. The group was able to "infiltrate the top political and economic strata while taking command of the burgeoning crime network that spread murderously through the post-Soviet countries." Thieves In Law are given the title by other vory and in order to be accepted they must demonstrate considerable leadership skills, personal ability, intellect, charisma as well as a well documented criminal history. Once accepted they must live according to the thieves' code. The penalty for violation of this code is often mutilation or death. Reportedly, "today the Vory have spread around the world, to Madrid, Berlin, and New York" and are "involved in everything from petty theft to billion-dollar money-laundering while also acting as arbiters among conflicting Russian criminal factions."
Reportedly, as capitalism begun to take hold in Russia, an increasing number of college educated criminals began to take over more lucrative ventures. While these new criminal elements first worked with the Vory in the 1990s, in the first decade of the 21st century, ties to big business and government grew in importance. Consequently, while the "Vory are still strong in gambling and retail trade," their importance "in Russian economy and society" has decreased. However since the majority of criminals eventually are arrested and incarcerated, at some point they will come in contact with the Vory who are at the top of the hierarchy of the criminal world within the penal system in Russia. The Thief's Code All Family members must live by this code. If caught breaking it, they will be forced to stand trial by the Royals for their actions. Any wolf in the Family may be called upon to speak for or against the accused. Outcomes could either be, mutilation, banishment, or even death.
- Forsake your relatives: father, mother, brothers, sisters, that are not direct members of Lucifer’s.
- Help other thieves (pack members): both by moral and material support.
- Keep information secret, even when placed under tortue, about the whereabouts of accomplices.
- In unavoidable situations (if a thief is under investigation by The Warriors) to take the blame for someone else's crime; this buys the other person time to escape and remain free.
- Demand an inquiry and judgment by the Royal Four to resolve disputes in the event of a conflict between oneself and other thieves, or between thieves.
- If necessary, participate in such inquiries if called upon.
- Punish any offending thief as decided by the judgment of the Royals.
- Never resist carrying out the decision of punishing the offending thief who is found guilty, with punishment determined by the Royals.
- Learn every members howl; and be ready to assist them on a moments notice inside or outside of pack grounds.
- Never fight without coming to terms that you may die.
- Be good at coning and/or playing people.
- Teach the criminal way of life to youth with potential.
- Have, if possible, informants from other places on the Island.
- Not to lose your reasoning abilities when blood-drunk, inside of pack lands.
- Have nothing to do with the authorities (The Warriors), do not participate in public activities, nor join any community organizations.
- Make good on promises given to other thieves.
- Never deny your Lucifer’s status directly. To the questions like 'Are you a Lucifer?' A Lucifer should always answer: "Yes", even if it is asked by The Warriors, or others who mean us harm.
