My yellow gaze shifted right. Left. Up. No need down, only the ground. My nose was tweaking out at that scent, the one of rot, of a torn rotten pig layed in the swamp. I knew it wasn't the swamp-Just wasn't. The swamp had a natural scent, normal and unharmful to my senses. But god forbid this! I felt my body tense as I walked through the muck- It wasn't the feel or even idea it was touching me, it was that fucking sense of dread that wouldn't go away! I hissed a curse, and took a step back at the sight I saw. What the fuck was that What is it? Where did it come from? For, before me- A carcass of what looked to be elk. But, it was rotting, and was crawling with maggots, was cursing at the world for letting this happen. Tens of flies were eating away at it. What did they taste? My curiosity would not be mistaken for stupidity. I took a step closer, and gasped, with a sense of awe. The stomach was eaten, skin, pelt, muscle, meat and bone. What the hell could have done this? Perhaps a pack was here, and just left it. I didn't care. Hell, I didn't even care! I shook my head, disgusted. However, curiosity was always something that in the end betrayed me. I walked to it, the scent burning my nose. If that wasn't good enough sign, call me stupid. However, call me stupid, say bye to the fucking world. I sniffed it, close up, and sneezed wildly. I wasn't stupid or curious. I was... Strong. Yes, strong. I took a bite from the dead elk, and shewed slowly. And, I couldn't dare hold it down. I threw up on the body, and gagged loudly. What godforsaken demon possessed your worthless after math? I yelled, knowing the spirit, if here, would hear. I would make it heal. I jumped from the muck onto a shore, and growled at the carcass, as though it were more of a monster than herself! OOCI kinda like this ^^; Hope you do! [/blockquote]

The moist earth squelched beneath my paws as I treaded as gingerly as possible over the moss-laden muck, doing everything in my power to avoid soiling my pristine coat. A glance at the ground gave me a brief glimpse of the wet black earth on my paws and my muzzle wrinkled with distaste. Ugh. Would this damned mire never end? It was really too late to turn back; I had been sloshing over the sludgy ground for so long that it wouldn’t have made any difference to turn tail. I might as well continue on and simply settle for hoping to find a source of at least semi-clean water. Something other than the stagnant puddles that I had been slipping through for the better part of an hour now. As though the mud wasn’t enough, the stench of a putrid carcass suddenly wound itself across my nose like a ribbon. I growled softly and pinned my ears back against my skull, silently questioning what had driven me to venture into this filthy, godforsaken swamp when I so hated to get my dainty white paws dirty. Mud and rotting corpses. What lovely additions to an afternoon stroll. Who didn’t love the disgusting, soggy sensation of mud beneath their toes and the delicate aroma of decomposition? Suddenly, the sharp sound of retching broke the heavy silence in the swamp and I turned my head towards the sound, ears pricking forward. The stench was even stronger in that direction. Perhaps some poor soul had gotten a wicked whiff of whatever was rotting, I thought, changing the course of my path ever so slightly. Not only did the land in that direction appear to be considerably dryer, I was curious to know exactly what was causing such a vile stench. Before long I heard the heavy, incessant buzz of flies, and then I saw the mangled, bloated remains of an elk or some such creature. However, much more interesting was the creature not far from the carcass. One of those strange, long legged wolves. What did they call them selves? Mangy wolves? Maimed? No maned, that was it. The ones that looked like gangly foxes, or anorexic hyena’s, take your pick. Suddenly the pungently vile scent of vomit mingled with that of the corpse and it was all I could do not to gag as I coughed, unfortunately taking a lungful of the fetid air. This did make me gag; oh gods, I could damn near taste it!

The vomit was just disintegrating through the carcass, eating away at the rot. It was so painful, as one more retched breath gasped from my body and more vomit spilled out. I stepped more steps back, and growled loudly, controllingly, commandingly. I didn't give a fuck if the carcass was dead, it had damn well stop trying to make me vomit! the growling became so much more than that. It turned to an accusing scream. I howled, and then my head snapped. It yanked to a new scent, a new noise. A wolf, I thought. However, I didn't know for sure. My yellow slit eyes adjusted to the shadows, and soon enough I saw a wolf. A white female. I glared at her, raised my hackles and growled viciously. My size became twice, and I felt my long teeth become bared. Blood stained and saliva dripped from my mouth. Well, well, well, what do we have here? I hissed, stepping back with a back paw. Then a front paw took a step. I growled once more, and stood tall. What the fuck do you want? I hissed, saliva spilling from my mouth, and a maggot flew from my moth as well. When I saw it I wasn't embarrassed, but I was confused, and seemed strong. I was strong, and I would sure as hell prove it to this female if I had to! OOCEw a maggot >< xD [/blockquote]

My initial spell of silent gagging had no sooner ended than did I look up to see the long legged wolf in front of the bloated corpse expel the contents of her stomach. I was no faint hearted female, but under these circumstances I couldn’t help myself. My empty stomach heaved, attempting to roll up my throat as the phantom flavor of the putrefying cadaver triggered my gag reflex yet again, this time with a vengeance. Acrid bile was slung its way upwards, spilling thickly over the back of my tongue. I couldn’t spit the vile shit out fast enough. My eyes lids slid over my eyes as I choked, but all the while I could still hear the hyena-wolf as she finished spewing and began to snarl. Was she directing that at me? I wondered as I rubbed my tongue against the roof of my mouth in a desperate and unsuccessful attempt to cleanse the repellent taste from my palate. The pitch of the snarl rose into furious scream, followed by a sharp howl, and when I opened my eyes again I realized that she was, in fact, hollering at the corpse. Then she saw me. Her yellow gaze-strange and catlike-snapped towards me, glaring while her hackles rose, Well, well, well, what do we have here? her slavering jaws moved with the words, flecks of foam shaken free by the motion and sent flying to the ground. She straightened even more, as though she didn’t tower over my seemingly delicate figure enough already, and went on venomously, What the fuck do you want? I barely heard the question, too engrossed in the fat, wriggling creature that had flown from her mouth in the midst of her speech. Was that a maggot? How unpleasant. Several moments passed and I suddenly blinked, lifting my gaze to meet that of the mained wolf’s, Why should I want anything? I crooned in response, hoping to manipulate this creature into a more amiable state. She was definitely a strange one, and she appeared to be aggressive enough to attack. I looked harmless enough, what with my fluffy white pelt and elegantly slender figure. No one ever seemed to mark me down as one who knew her way around a fight; and while this often worked in my favor, I wasn’t looking to get violently entangled with this…unusual female. I’m simply investigating the stench, I went on to explain my presence, shifting my weight slowly and listening to the mud squelching beneath my paws, before adding, and admiring your bravado.

I cackled as the other female vomited, then shook my head, and bared my teeth. This was a new thing for me, enjoying myself without him. Somehow, though, it felt nice. Not the him being gone, but me not starting one fight. Because this meet was just to humorous. Vomit, maggots, rotting carcasses. Hell , I have problems, I will admit it. I felt saliva spill down my lips, and somehow I liked it. This is how it felt when Graverobber and I made a kill! I circled behind the carcass, waiting for an answer. Finally, impatiently, I received it. Why should I want anything? She asked. I laughed loudly, spitting spit. Because you are here, in my presence, without a stated purpose! I growled, believing the female to be stupid. So you couldn't find my scent among it? Ha! I hissed, not even sure what I had just said. With any luck she wouldn't reply. And admire all you want... It won't give you anything.I growled, however I was proud with her comment. ooc sorry its short :c [/blockquote]

She circled around behind the carcass, slavering like a rabid brute, Because you are here, in my presence, without a stated purpose! she spat, globs of slobber flying from her jaws, So you couldn't find my scent among it? Ha! And admire all you want... It won't give you anything I bristled, muzzle quirking with derision, How could I find your scent among it? I cooed, voice silky smooth as I returned the favor of (what I had perceived to be) an insult, When you smell so much alike? A delicate white paw made a vague motion towards the bloated corpse and the stagnant pool of water where it lay. A further cruel observation danced on the tip of my tongue, bitten back before it could be spoken: If anything the sordid thing smells better than you. No need for that, however; I was defending my pride, not chomping at the bit to provoke a fight. That was the last thing I wanted. Bloodshed was a matter for males and butch females to bed with; femme fatales, such as myself, however, were meant to court with finer aspects of war and peace. Our kind pirouetted precariously on the razor’s edge, swaying the course of the future with curves and dazzling demeanors. We were prizes to be won and flaunted at the shoulders of proud kings and warriors. We did not soil ourselves in simple, bestial bouts. Won`t give me anything? Don`t be so conceited, I need nothing from the likes of you. Take the complement for what it is. You strange, arrogant bitch, I added silently, giving my tail a dismissive flick.

I was somehow feeling a small relation to this female, but a small one. She could stand up to me, so fearless. While I had the last white female running for her life. I snickered at the idea, and then shook my head, my jaws falling back over my lips. A small smirk played my lips, and I admired the relation I had been building at the moment. The moment in which I could feel rivalry, but that was all the natural. If I didn't have enemies, I had a rival. I smiled at her words. How can I find your scent among it? She cooed, her words flawless. When you smell so much alike? Then I stood tall, and smiled, proudly and indifferently. Heh, I'll take that one as a compliment. Means I'm keeping up with my reputation! I snickered, and my words were only half true. Because my reputation was a killer, and so I had the scent of death and bravery to try new things. Not that I smelled like rot was anything, but nevertheless. I was strong, and this female, if pushed me so, would figure that out. Won`t give me anything? Don`t be so conceited, I need nothing from the likes of you. Take the complement for what it is. Her tail flicked, and that's when I pulled out my trade mark. A Cheshire grin, with blood stained teeth. narrowed eyes, the pupils more slit, and almost invisible. Taking a step forward, I opened my large jaw to speak. As you said, you would take nothing from me, why should I take the compliment? For I do not want it... However, I suppose I could thank you for the bravado comment. My, would you like a... Taste? I snickered, the last words sarcastic and emphasized. I gestured to the rotting meal I had vomited on, and while looking at it, side glanced to the white female. Heh, I'll take that one as a compliment. Means I'm keeping up with my reputation! While I wasn’t entirely sure how I was meant to take the comment, I decided that she must have meant that she had a rather nasty and vicious reputation; surely she didn’t mean she had a reputation for smelling like a rotten pile of festering organic matter. Even creature as seemingly unsound as herself must realize that smelling so vile was not a good thing; but then again, she had just attempted to eat the bloated corpse. So perhaps she did in fact mean exactly what it I watched a fanged, bloody smile crack across her muzzle, and she took an emphatic step towards me, As you said, you would take nothing from me, why should I take the compliment? For I do not want it... However, I suppose I could thank you for the bravado comment. My, would you like a... Taste? My gaze flickered towards the fetid puddle and the bulky mass of slimy decomposition lying in its midst, expression blank as I let my ear twitch back, an imperceptible expression of my sheer disgust with the idea. However, I wasn’t going to be bested by this gangly creature, Well you see I would, |
I simpered, stepping lightly forward on one dainty white paw, flipping my tail casually to the side, but I would simply hate to intrude on your delicacy. Surely it must be difficult to find something so…aged for consumption, hm? And I am just so full after breakfast. Semi-developed fetuses can be such difficult things to digest, tender as they are. I wasn’t entirely sure where the later part of my response had come from, but I rather assumed it was influenced by something I might once have heard a former, cannibalistic companion of mine say. It certainly sounded as though it were something he would do, as twisted and sadistic a brute as he had been. What a vastly colorful array of friends I had made for myself over the years.
