Well, isn't this a bit... off.. She was tucked, snuggled in her own little bed inside my head. I hadn't heard her chime in all day. A peaceful day for me it had turned out to be. Now, iny, meeny, miny, moe, which of you scumbags will ruin it for me? As I moved through the land that was touched by a light blanket of snow a low growl rumbled from the depths of my throat. Only to vibrate past coal black lips. I was infact waiting for something to jump out of the shadows and ruin what seemed to be a perfect day. Isn't that usually what happens? In my case, that is..
I moved through the chilled, murky atmosphere with such rhythm it looked as if I had memorized each step in which I took from a prior visitation. Hadn't been here in a while. Oh how I missed it. The smell of death that lingered in the air due to the large reptiles that waited for you to slip up just one time.. The dark gloomy aura that surrounded this place brought me thrills of excitement. Was it normal to like some of the most depressing places? In my eyes, the depressing places they brought a smile to my face. I felt at ease knowing others blood had been shed here.. Oh lord, I am becoming her... That's something she would say! She was right, after time you do become one. I let a small sigh escape my lips now. Petite dial lowered to be level with my shoulder blades. Each step strategically placed. Careful not to get engulfed by the murky thick waters. If there is one thing I remembered, it was the rumors I heard... One wrong step in the swamp lands could be your last step. And I wasn't ready to take my last one... not yet.. Maybe soon though.. Don't tempt me.
As I moved thicker into the swamp lands, the musky aroma grew stronger, masking all other sense now. Made my honey hued orbs water just a bit, but I soon got used to the stench. Night had already been falling across the lands, and so the only thing that lit the path now was the moon that just barely shone through the tops of the trees./. Perhaps I should of thought a little bit more, and went in daylight hours. After all, it has been ages since I came here. I didn't remember every nook and cranny. My own snow white pelt shone out like a sore paw against the dark ...
Continuing onward.. Something did get my attention, it was what sounded like a splash of water. Something heavy plopping into the deeper waters. And right off the bat I knew what it was, or well I assumed I knew what it was. I must of ventured onto one of those river monsters terrains. And it would be a wise idea to get a move on it. I seen one during the day, and they sure aren't one to be re-coned with. 'Least I wasn't gonna be the dumb ass to try. And so I picked up my pace slightly. Large twin towers fully erect to take in all the distant sounds. The slightest Russel of a brush caught my attention at this time. I didn't want to become dinners. After finding a higher patch of ground, that was where I went. Where one lone tree stood. And so I sat upon my haunches... Trying to put my focus on every little detail. Squinting just a bit to strain to see a bit better.

Night had long since settled. The sun has cast its last rays across the lands hours before, and the mountains had cast their shadow as it made its final decent behind the distant ocean waters. Shadows lingered, created by every bush and tree by the dim silvery light of the waning moon. It always amused him to know, and have realized that without the light there would be no shadows. Did that also mean that without good there would be no evil? It was a question Sarabi often asked himself, one that he'd yet to get answered in six years of life on this God forsaken earth. Even God, once of the highest importance in his life, wouldn't give him even the smallest sign, but that didn't matter, God himself worked in ways that were unknown to every living thing.
He'd settled himself in the branches of a quite oddly formed tree. Ever since the bison incident Sarabi had found himself looking for trees built in ways that would allow him access to the branches, and he'd found himself in interesting situations since. Wolves tend to speak about things when they didn't know he was there, and being who he was, the silent, well trained wraith, the black ghost, made things a little easier for him if he was careful. Though he's swore he'd never venture to these lands again, the dreaded swamps. He found himself within the arms of a rather massive tree, laying on the thicker branches to keep them from snapping or creaking with his rather impressive weight. The three itself hand branches that were quite low to the ground, allowing him, with careful precision, and grace to leap from branch to branch till he'd nestled himself into the arms of two closely formed branches that supported his weight if he leaned to the right. It was quite a comfortable branch, and he hadn't manged to move for white a few hours as it was.
Yet this place was no just a foul smelling comfort. No Sarabi quite detested this place, even if his tree was comfortable. It had been here that he'd met Menari, his mate. Though he often wondered if she was still that. He hadn't seen her since the summer season, early in the summer season and yet it was already winter. He suspected the worse, of course. And death wasn't it. She'd cheated once, and now, as time dragged on, his anger at her and himself was growing. He assumed she picked up with another brute and went her own way without so much as a word. He despised himself for loving, for trusting her, for making the mistakes he'd made when he was young a second time. Sarabi was not an idiot, but when it came to females who managed to see into a deeper side of him, he made stupid mistakes, and hated himself for it all. He felt it was a weakness, one that he needed, desperately to overcome.
The sounds around him seemed to erupt in an instant. The splash made his pitched audits swivel back before his head turned to follow the sound. His deeply pitched blood optics found the source of the sound with ease, and his hackles rose ever so slightly. He'd once had a run in with the swap beasts, Alligators, and it hadn't been pleasant. It was the second reason why he didn't often come here, but he'd decided to torture himself some more over the disappearance of his mate, or was it ex-mate now? He wasn't sure yet, because though a part of his longed to rip out her throat like he'd almost done before, another part of him wanted to see her, to love her, and to get right down and dirty. He was, after all, quite an amazing ride. The thought alone had a dark smirk shifting across his pitched lips, but even that emotion was short lived as his crimson optics caught sight of something he hadn't expected.
Sarabi didn't move from his perch as he watched the pale vixen cross through the murky waters, waters that were infested with the swamp beasts that launched themselves onto the dry spots to force their prey into the waters where they were far faster. He immediately dubbed her insane and stupid for making that crossing, and more so when the gators were on the move from the father banks into the swamp itself. It was a reason why he'd sought out a tree to lay in, so the beasts couldn't reach him. Not to mention he was a good ten to fifteen feet off the ground. Yet when the white Fea crawled up onto his little island with his nifty little tree, his ears pressed forward and he leaned over the branch very slightly. Due to his thick black coat he hid within the shadows well. He was a wraith, a ghost hiding far above, simply watching. His body was slim, all lean muscle. He was built for running, for slipping silently into one area and out the opposite side without detection, yet he was indeed a large brute, more tall than he was thick. He easily towered over most wolves, though he had met his match once or twice, yet they were also far thicker than he was, and not nearly as fast.
Very slowly a smirk slipped across his features, and the look in his ruby eyes was downright ominous. Very carefully, and rather silently he crossed his front paws over each other and leaned over, allowing his head to hand over the left side of his perch, audits pressed forwards as he peered down at the pale vixen, far to noticeable in all this darkness. ”You do realize, that as long as your on the ground, they will just follow you? They will just chase you back into the water, where their little friends are waiting, and will tear you into pieces. It would definitely give me a chance to make my exit if you so wish to remain as bait.” He said with a wicked grin, his pearly white teeth seeming to stand out in his dark pitched face.

Love... Hmmm, what is love? Isn't that that shit that was supposed to be unconditional? No one could match up to it? It was a flame between two souls that never burned out? The longing to be with one another, night and day... Better, and worse? Sickness and through health? Don't take me to seriously. That's just what I've heard.. Here's a nice little twist, I wasn't so demented due to the doings of the opposite sex.. Shit, I never grew close to anyone come to think of it. Sad, no? How old was I now? Six.. and never came anything close to being in this so called love.. Not that I didn't want it. I'm willing to try anything once.. It was her, she wouldn't ever let me get close to another. It was as if she knew when I got some tiny hint of attraction to wards someone.. She instantly took over, and everything would happen in a flash. The blood, I would taste the blood. See the lifeless corpse still warm to the touch. Maybe that is why I never felt this so called love. To me it was a myth. Just some fairy tale for the pups. In my book, it didn't exist. And I'm positive she'd keep it that way. You know, I think she's jealous. Thats got to be it...
I sat on my little peninsula that I claimed as my own for the time being.. Rather pleased with the little island I chose. I picked it, not her. I did it alone. Stood on my own four paws and I feel I made a damn good decision. Don't be foolish now sweetie. This is a good spot for a upcoming meal, dear..... Just when I thought I was at peace for the evening she threw her own two cents right on in there. And I couldn't help but roll my eyes in disgust. I didn't care what she says, I'm pretty damn pleased with myself. At least here, I could hear them coming. I'd be able to detect if they were pulling their scaly bodies from the murky waters.. I'd be alert, and ready.. What I wasn't ready for was being surprised to know that I'm not the only one on this muddy peninsula.. I couldn't smell anyone else here, his musky aroma was covered by the rather distinguishing swamp odor. And his shadowy embodiment was masked in with the shadows the rather large tree offered.... No, I didn't know I had company. So I continued to speak to myself. Although I spoke to her aloud.
"Let's face it doll, your just pissed off that you didn't think of it yourself. I beat you to the punch. |
I could feel her laughing in my head, I could hear it. And as she cackled at my remark it felt like sharpened claws sliding down a chalkboard. Sent chills down my spine, and caused my entire bodice to ache. Even forced me to cringe. A Demented sight I probably was. Tattered and worn out looking. Even the distant gaze I had explained it all.. It was as if psychically I was here, however mentally I was no where close. Probably located in a whole nother galaxy... I still didn't notice the brute perched like a jaguar on the branch directly behind me.. And as her cackling laughter slowly began to fade into nothing but faint echo's his voice now rang into my twin towers, and instantly my entire bodice jerked to look directly at the tree... Was the tree really talking to me now? What the hell is wrong with me?! It was then, his crimson red orbs caught my attention, and my black lips curled up wards into a mixture of a snarl, and a toothy, twisted grin. A bit indecisive I guess. However my orbs remained widened out of shock. judging by the looks of it, I should probably be locked away in a muzzle and a straight jacket. To bad our species never created such a contraption. What our would would be like if we had thumbs. How 'bout you speak back to cat-like boy, hmmm.. Before he thinks we're a mute. I planned on it, just giving it time. Dramatic effects don't work out here doll. I couldn't help but chuckle aloud at her little sassy remark. She was right though, there was no need for dramatic effect.. And I probably did look like a blasted mute. And so I cleared my own voice, tainted lyrics slithering off my tongue. Just above a whisper. "Well dear, not all of us are part cat. And some of us may want to meet our fate at the jaws and dull teeth of a rather large lizard. Now that would be going out with a bang." I laughed softly to myself once more before offering him a wink. Not In a flirtatious manner. Nothing seemed to be in a flirt type manner to be honest. I think I was a little to off the hinges to grasp the concept of how its done. [/blockquote][/blockquote]

Laughter bubbled up from deep vocals and slowly Sarabi pushed himself to his paws. He stretched out his lean body, feeling the muscles protest from having laid there for so long. He didn't dare shake out his pelt, not till he was at least four feet from the ground. He wasn't stupid, and unlike her assumption of him being part cat, he was definitely not, he was just smarter than most. Well at least he liked to think so. He'd met some pretty dull and stupid wolves in his time. They may have been amusing, for about five minutes, and then he just wanted to rid the world of them. Not always a pleasant thought, murder, but it at least gave him something to think about.
Very carefully Sarabi leap to a lower branch, careful to plant his paws firmly on the thick branch before looking back down at her. Though now that he moved he seemed a little detached from the shadows, almost as if he was darker than them. His eyes narrowed as moonlight flashed across his face, illuminating those crimson orbs like ruby stars. He thought it was quite odd that she'd spoken aloud to herself. It had seemed like she was talking to another entity just at her side. Sarabi was as sure as hell nothing was there. His eye sight was very good and if he missed even another as dark as himself, he would have sworn he was getting old and quite useless. Which wouldn't settle with him as proud as he could be. He did, however choose to ignore the words she'd spoken aloud before she realized he was there. It was either she was just talking in response to her own thoughts, which was indeed crazy, or she was talking to something she thought was there, which was not simply crazy it was completely and utterly mad. He wondered for a moment, which she was, but didn't bother to ask the question.
”Oh? So your waiting for fate to come and snatch you from this place? You do realize Fate has a very nasty sense of humor, right?” he asked as he sat down on the new branch. It wasn't as comfortable, since he'd had something to lean on a moment before to save him that mild fear of falling and breaking a leg. That would put him in a horrible position and most likely feed him to the swamp beasts as surely as this wolf waited for them now. Maybe she was mad. He knew how these beasts killed and it wasn't pleasant. Not in the least.
Sighing softly he tilted his head to the left, but never took his eyes off of her. ”Have you seen these beasts kill? It isn't simply one that will get you m'dear. Its all of them. They often share, and dull teeth are far worse than sharp ones. I think I'd rather feel the burn of a felines claws than the dull pressure of an alligators when they are trying to rip you apart. Skin splitting not because the teeth are sharp, but because it can't resist to the pressure. Pleasant, really.” He said sarcastically laughing softly under his breath as the images of his words played within his mind. Sarabi had a fairly vivid imagination, not to mention he's seen the beasts earlier in the day snatch the life of a poor doe. It had taken wuite a while for it to die, till they dragged it under water.
”First one will get you, and just because the rest are greedy they will come to. Each taking a bite. Of course your still intact, their teeth wont split you in two wright away, but they do this interesting thing when they drag you into the water. They make sure they have a good hold and then they start to turn, flipping over onto their back and then back onto their scaly belly. Of course since their teeth are quite dull they do this to try and rip you apart while your still breathing if you haven't yet drown. They break bones, rip flesh, all while your still alive and struggling..... So tell me, is that really how you wish to die? Or would you like to use your mind a bit more than your used to and figure out the easy way into this tree where they can't get? You should take the offer while it lasts. I quite like this tree, and I dont usually share.”
A smirk, amused and a bit dark had played across his handsome maw the entire time he'd spoken, finding the little gory details a bit more amusing than he should. Sarabi was no angel, not in the least, and to his old pack, of years ago, the faint whitish gray markings on his back proved so. His pack had been fairly religious, believing them to be decedents of angels, or would be in their next life. The markings, shaped like an upside down V on his back, which could only really be seen in the light, had been whispered about, his family had said, to his face, that he was forsaken. A demon, and not worthy of wings, because it was clear, with the shape that his wings had long been ripped from his back. Of course Sarabi didn't believe this, and being shunned by everyone, well, he'd made his leave, and not quietly either.
”What is your name? Or should I simply make one up since you long to die so painfully by these monsters? I'm sure the memory would remain, but without a name your face would be gone within a week.” he said, smiling then. Though the smile itself wasn't entirely pleasant, it made the brute seem both handsome and cruel at the same time. Indeed Sarabi was not even close to being an angel.

Even his laughter, irked me. It pierced through me like tiny little needles penetrating through my fur and flesh, and caused me to tense up. Every muscle in my tiny sized body tightening to maximum capacity before releasing, slowly. Waste your time conversing with strangers, and they mock you. You see that. He's laughing at you. At your pathetic puny existence. She always found a way to crawl under my skin. I didn't like the way she did it. I had no choice but to cope with it though, we are one body, and one mind. Sometimes I wish someone else could hear her, could see what I go through. The taunting and the torture I go through everyday of my life... Then maybe being mauled by alligators would seem like a easy route out too to them. You know, they wouldn't believe you. Your the only one with a friend in your head. Your the odd ball, the freak. I didn't have a retort to that remark, she was right. I knew she was. She was always right in her own fucked up way. I did however force a growl to emit from deep inside my vocals, this time the growl so deep that it caused my own rib cage to rattle. Although it was clearly not directed to the shadowed tree hugger. I was sort of staring off into the distance when I emitted that menacing sound. Just sort of dazed, like some hypnotized freak. I never spoke back to her though, felt no need too at this point. All I knew is if that white bitch ever grew her own body I'd tear her limb to limb. Your body is my body, dear. Go ahead tear me apart. Once again her mocking cackle buzzed inside my brain like flies upon a rotting carcass, and I shook my dial side to side... Before finally realizing we still had company. Light shaded orbs now locking up on him, focusing on his ruby red visionaries.. Odd eyes this one had.. Not what you'd typically see. on a normal daily bases. Quite intriguing.. Remarkable really. Must be a science experiment gone bad? I like the gone bad part. A twisted grin soon took place over my scarred maw...
My own visionaries watched him leap to a lower branch, and I backed up slightly.. Observing him. A wolf that could climb a tree? Who would of ever thought such a thing was even possible. His embodiment now detached itself from the shadows making his rather masculine form to be a bit more revealing. Something about him was a bit demonic. Was it the red eyes, the part that he could do something no typical wolf could, or was it the fact that his pelt seemed to be even darker than the shadows that cast over the lands, making the shadows look pathetic? I couldn't quite figure it out. Not saying I was attracted to the brute. That was something I was pretty sure I was incapable of. Or maybe I just never knew when I was, I just couldn't distinguish the difference. I continued to eye him carefully, before looking behind me, to make sure one of those water lurkers weren't planning a sneak attack ambush, and then I looked back to him. Don't worry dear, I'm keeping an eye out for you. I wont let nothing happen to us. Trust me... Remember what happened the last time you advised me to trust you? I remember it clearly.. You certainly didn't steer me in the right direction. You do understand, when I'm gone then so are you... Not necessarily, love... I didn't know if she was fibbing or telling the truth.. It was hard to distinguish with her, her voice never changed. It was the same monotone every time she spoke. Never changed a pitch, or skipped a note.. Always the same.. Finally his voice overpowered hers and so my attention was back on him.. Not my full attention, but a good part of it. My brow rose as he spoke of fates sense of humor, and then a chuckle escaped my lips.. I was very aware that fates sense of humor was sick and twisted.. At times even perverted. If I could find me a lover that matched fate I would be in complete heaven. To bad nothing like that exists now a days. I watched as he got comfortable on this new branch that was a tad closer to me now, and I allowed an invisible brow to rise slowly.. What if he did fall? What if he misplaced one paw, and plummeted to the ground. Oh, wouldn't that be a sight? I'd like to see someone else fuck up for a change.. That would be a nice flip of the script. Maybe even make me feel less of a failure eh? His voice continued to echo through my brain as he continued to talk, and at this point, I plopped down on my haunches looking like some eager pup listening to a wise old grandpa's Gorey war stories. Auds fully alert, and oculars never once leaving his high perched embodiment. Even her voice was shunned out at this time.
I have seen one of these beasts kill, a while back.. But the way he said it.. The way he told his story, made the images so vivid in my own imagination. I had only seen one make the kill.. A rather large beast at that. Never had I seen more than one ambush. And now I was having my own vivid images of her standing by the waters edge, lowering to look at her own reflection, and then one of those well hidden beasts plunging out of the water, latching onto her side region. Dull teeth forcing through her flesh due to the power of those jaws clamping.. And then dragging her to wards the waters.. And then another coming to its aid as she struggled and latching onto a leg, and then another emerging from behind, and grasping at her hind legs... I could hear her blood curdling scream as each one took its own position. I could see the fear in her eyes. And then all at once each one going beneath the surface of the waters and twisting about all in separate directions.. Limbs getting torn straight off her carcass. Her inhaling the murky waters as she tried to scream.. Those lungs filling up, and her becoming dinner for three. Blood soon taking over the mis colored shade of the water... The only thing is, her in all reality, was me.. I could already feel my own bones ache and send shooting pain through out my body as if they were splintering and then snapping in two, and my own jowls clamped shut, causing my own dull canines to grind one another. Once he spoke of me climbing the tree, I diverted my attention back to the demonic looking one... And offered a few blinks.. Once again, I'm of the canidae family.. I do not climb trees... I did however scope out the branches..
Standing up I placed two front paws on a lower branch and then shook my dial looking back to him.. my own words now entering into the silent atmosphere. "I'm afraid I lack the talent to climb a tree. My claws, unfortunately, can not cut into the bark to get a good grasp. I'll simply slip." |
Never in my life had I attempted to do such a task. I never even thought about trying to climb a tree... Takes someone with allot of talent to attempt such a task and actually do it when they were built like our species. He must have allot of free time on his paws to accomplish such a thing. If I wasn't so busy talking to the voice in my own thoughts then maybe I'd have thats sort of time. And then he asked of my name... I finally noticed I still had my front paws on the branch before I retreated back to the ground, orbs looking to him once more before I spoke. My own voice never leaving that low tone... It was as if I were whispering so no one else could hear me but him.. He was the only here though, wasn't he? "They cursed me with the calling Fetisha, since I left my bitches womb. And you? Who are you? So I don't have to refer to you as kitty." My own smirk soon became noticeable as I watched him.. He was right, though.. My face would soon vanish after a week if I were to get mauled by this creatures. No one would know I was even missing, more than likely. I did acknowledge his own sick and twisted grin. Wasn't normal, no sir ree... Was he as mad as me? He masked it pretty damn good if he was. [/blockquote][/blockquote]

He watched her closely, those ruby eyes never leaving her small petite form. How easily, if he tried, he could over power her. Sarabi didn't look his weight for the muscle mass he possessed was of a lean structure but surprisingly dense. He was well over two hundred pounds and he assumed most dude to his lack of bulk was more due to his height. He was a rather tall wolf indeed, elegant in his own sinister way. Many assumed Sarabi was not in the least light hearted, but there was a passion in him that stretched beyond the mind of a dark entity. Sarabi was no saint, never could he be, but he was no devil either, even if he often seemed like it.
”You'll only slip if you think you will slip. Most everything you say you can't do is because its what you tell yourself, not that you actually can't do it.” He said in a tone that spoke more of what was in his mind than what he let on. Everything he spoke was truth, however odd it sounded at first. It was one of those long phrases one needed to repeat more than once to actually begin to believe it, but often times it worked. If you believed you could, then your fear of failing, or in this case, falling, would be lessened by what you believed you could do. Smirking as he watched her raise up, front paws on the lowest branch. He waited, seeing if she would make an attempt. Often many would seek out that simple lowest branch and leave it at that, they wouldn't gather their bravery and leap the rest of the way.
One of the reasons as to why Sarabi himself seemed to take refuge within trees that he managed to climb was not because he enjoyed it, but because he'd been forced to by a herd of bison. A couple weeks back that particular herd had chased him into an oddly formed tree, much like this one was deformed. He'd been stuck for a couple hours, warring with the herd leader that stood directly under his branch. He hadn't been stupid enough to make a run for it, he had literally been surrounded and though he was quick, he couldn't have possibly dodged that many hooves.
Audits flickered back, listening to another audible splash from the banks of the swap far behind him. It seemed their voices were not just something to stir the silence, but call to the beasts on the dark shores and bring them to their little island. Turning his head he peered back, looking into the murky waters that rippled in the moons silvery light. He knew what the beasts were going to do, he's watched them nearly all day. They would hide beneath the murky waters, unseen as they swam slowly closer till you couldn't figure out where they were, and before you knew it they launched themselves out of the water and ceased a limb before pulling you down. He swept the waters surface with his crimson orbs, taking in the still waters that he just knew were hiding the slimy beasts. ” If you slip, its the least of your worries. You slip now, you have a chance to start over, but, if I'm correct, in a couple minutes, you wont even have that opportunity.” He said and nodded towards the waters. Sarabi's voice was a little less sarcastic than it had been, and more matter of fact. Yet even still his voice was quite smooth, with touch that still kept one guessing one what he'd do next. Almost as if it was silk cloth, and beneath the fabric was coiled snake.
Smirking slightly Sarabi pushed himself back to his paws and turned around. He leaned down, his long body stretching to the branch behind his current limb. The distance between the branched was one even he didn't quite enjoy, which was why he was being very careful. It was easier descending, he found, than it was getting up, because if you didn't judge the distance right for your own weight, you'd tumble over the other side. When he found purchase with his front paws, his hind quarters followed before he turned around and then leap to another branch almost under the one he'd been sitting on and then further out, towards her to the branch she had rested her paws against. When he stood upon the last one, almost within touching distance of the smaller female, he smirked. ”At least get up enough so I wont have to watch you get dragged under. As amusing as that would be I wouldn't wish it on anyone, unless they did something to piss me off. And seeing as you haven't, yet, then be all means, take my advice.” He said, pushing on a persuasive not in his voice that he hadn't used in many moons.
”My names Sarabi Manah Daevas,” He said as he leap the final leap to the ground. His paws touched the ground just in front of her, almost touching her own. Sarabi was definitely crowding her, and a sort of sly, sensual smirk had twisted across his wolven lips as he peered down at her. He was definitely larger than he seemed up close, and he towered over her as if she were merely a pup. Sarabi had to admit though, she was kinda cute. But then, he'd thought the same of Menari, and look where that had gotten him. The mere thought had his eyes darkening slightly before he forced his attention back to the waters. ”Come. Before they reach this little island.” He said lowering his head to nudge her shoulder, trying to get her to stand. He didn't wait for her though, he simply turned and leap back onto the lowest branch.
”Always keep your front paws planted firmly, you have to know your weight or you will tumble over the other side. Don't use your claws, they will only hinder you unless you truly are part cat. Don't think about falling or you will, think about keeping your paws firmly in place and allowing your body to follow the momentum without letting it drag you end over end. I want you to at least get to the second branch, this one they might still be able to reach if they are as smart as I think they are.” he said, and leap to the next branch. His body turned just at the right moment so his weight turned to the length of the branch. When he got to the second branch a good five and a half feet off the ground he moved closer to the base of the tree and sat back down, turning his attention back to her with a smirk. Either she learned to climb trees or she became a meal to the swamp beasts.

Lets not under estimate the small packages. Some of them can be rather explosive.... He was rather intimidating though, I must admit. He may look lean from here, but I could already tell he would easily tower over me.. I hated being such a small stature, but in some cases It had its advantages. If I were all leg, I would probably bitch about being to tall. I've noticed the brutes rather liked the dainty ones.. No, dear.. They like the slutty ones. Dainty.... Slutty... what's the difference? I can be a little of both. Pretty versatile I like to say. Yea, with the help of me love... Don't give yourself all the credit. With the help of you my ass... I don't need your assistance... We share one brain, doll. I hear everything your think
His words now broke through hers. Easily over powering her words and catching my attention once more that seemed to be coming and going. I listened to him rather closely and couldn't help but laugh. I eyeballed the branch a bit and then shook my head side to side. That would take some balancing right there.. Something I often lacked. I like to say she throws my equilibrium off. She makes me off balance. If she didn't weigh down half my head I probably could do it.
I could hear the other beasts making their splash as their massive bodies entered the waters from the bank.. It was obvious they knew we were sitting here. And I bet they are hungry. It probably isn't often that dumb asses linger into the swamp. Most listen to the stories and probably steer clear. Well unless of course that is if they have a death wish. Then this would be the perfect place to come. After his next train of words I looked back to the waters behind me, the stillness was all to wary. The ripples had soon faded and the water remained rather still.. I knew they were there though, making their way to my little island.
It was when he left his perch and landed right before me, I realized just how large he really was.. Look, your no cat. Why attempt such a task? You have plenty of time to run..... To where? There was no where to run. I pushed her words back into the back burner of my brain now, trying to ignore her. She wasn't physically here, she has no idea what she's talking about. She'd rather us just take a chance and high tail it through the waters. She didn't physically walk through the mud and feel how it grabs at your legs. I felt the nudge on my shoulder before Sarabi... Who's name I just gathered.... Leap onto the branch once more. And a sigh escaped my own lips...
"Well, you only live once I guess...
I inhaled deeply as I allowed my own orbs to roll over the second highest Branch.. I could leap onto it, that wasn't the issue... The issue was making it there and then balancing myself. And so I inhaled deeply, and stood upon all fours. Back muscles tightening as I flung myself into the air, pressing off the ground with my back paws, front paws now fully stretched out.. Wait look, I landed? in such a flash! Did I do it right? Once I came to reality, I realized I did make it to the branch, yes.. However my upper half was hanging off one side, my lower half hanging over the other side.... The branch pressing against my stomach, legs dangling... Great just freaking great... Told you you couldn't do it... Your no blasted feline! I huffed as I turned to fix my own honey shaded orbs on his dark figure.
"Now what? I'm stuck! |

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,450,true] | [atrb=background,http://i899.photobucket.com/albums/ac192/fireb4ashes/Sarabi-MIDDLE.jpg] His head turned sharply as she called out, informing him that she was stuck. At first he couldn't process what it was he was seeing for the darkness of the trees bark against her pale coat played tricks on his eyes. Then everything came into focus, and he couldn't help but laugh. The laughter that escaped him was deep and smooth, sensual with the amusement that lit the sound. His ruby eyes glittered in the pale moonlight, lit, for a moment by the silver rays as he turned his body around to face her. He couldn't fight the grin that had managed to cross his handsome face, for his delight in her predicament was far to high for him to do anything but laugh.
”Well now, what have you gone and done? Its all about balance, but apparently, I misjudged yours.” he said with a smirk as he moved down to the branch in which she was stuck on. His laughter had died a considerable amount, but though he was no longer loud, didn't mean he wasn't laughing, he was merely keeping it under his breath. As his heavy paws touched the branch she'd gotten her self stuck on, the thick length slightly bent as his weight added with hers. He paused for a moment, looking back towards the thinner portion of the branch. It was a strong branch, but he did fear it breaking if to much pressure was placed upon it, them where would they be? Up shit creak, and unable to get into the higher branches of a tree. Then he'd have to fight their way to the other side of the swamp. Not that he wasn't up for a fight but he'd rather not his opponent have him on the menu.
Very slightly Sarabi allowed the branch to take all of his weight. When he didn't hear the crack he glanced down at the ground and the slowly emerging figures as they poked their eyes out of the water. A low growl escaped him as he looked back at her, where she'd gotten herself stuck. ”If this branch breaks, we are both screwed royally.” He said as he stepped forwards, towards where she lay over the thick branch. He paused as he stared down at her, so small compared to him. There would be no trouble lifting her, though she was a full grown wolf, not a pup, so it would, no doubt hurt.
Smirking slightly he tilted his head as he gazed down at her, amusement playing in his eyes despite the fact that below them waited certain death. ”Alright, I'm going to grab your scruff. Dont squirm, or fight the hold, you will only break the branch, and then I will be really pissed. I'm going to drag you up and wait till you get your feet under you before I let you go, just in case you fall alright?” he asked, lifting wolven brows in mild question. If she fought he would drop her, not doubt about it, he may not be heartless, completely, but if she threatened his life, he'd save his own ass and worry about her when he knew he was okay with all limbs in tact.
Stealing a careful glance down below them, he heard the waters ripple with movement. The alligators were simply waiting for one of them to fall, he knew it, he could feel it in the air, as well as feel their hopeful gaze that they would get an easy dinner. Growling low in his throat he stepped up to where she was and lowered his head, his teeth were bared for a moment, dangerous and sharp in the moonlight before he grabbed by the scruff as a parent would a young pup, only Fetisha was no pup, and the weight would want top pull him down despite her tiny size. He made sure he got a good hold before he began to pull.
Her scent swarmed him suddenly, potent and intriguing, if but a little off. He wondered if that oddness to it had anything to do with her talking to herself. It wasn't at all unpleasant, in fact, he almost enjoyed it, if, he hadn't picked out another, one that was unfamiliar to his senses. Try as he might he couldn't place it, and though he longed to try, he didn't exactly have the time to go over and over in his thoughts like normal. He was trying to save her ass from the alligators, and so far it wasn't going all to well. Pushing his thoughts out of his head he gave and sudden heave, yanking up and backwards, and trying, as hard as he could not to knock himself out of the damn tree. He would have yelled at her to get her feet under her, but his mouth was currently full, and if he let go, she'd certainly fall.
((Its kinda crappy DX but i really wanted to reply))

His laugh sliced right through me, making me both a bit ashamed that I couldn't do it and agitated at the same time. I wasn't a big fan of being laughed at. It was rather humiliating. I'm assuming that it was due to my pride. Although I must admit, there was something about that laugh of his that sort of made me want to smile. I could feel the smile slowly creeping up on my own lips until I forced it back down. Only to flash him a bit of a aggravated glare. Now, this is why we steer clear of others, you see. I told you, all they do is look at you as if you are the failure in life. And it is when you begin to trust them that you screw up. Making yourself seem as pathetic and worthless as the rest of the species that walk these lands. You know what, come to think of it.... Just fall off the branch. You are the type that don't deserve to breath the same air as the rest. A waste of space, my dear... A waste of space. I could feel her words chewing into my brain. The nagging sound of her voice causing my muscles to tighten beneath my own pale alabaster coat. Her words repeating themselves over and over again, like a skipping CD. It was then that in the pale moonlight I caught a good glimpse of him, and everything seemed to pause. I hadn't noticed before his full features, and the way the dim light crossed over his facade I was able to see just how remarkable handsome he was. From his masculine features to his ruby orbs that seemed to Peirce straight through your very soul... Cross that thought straight from your head, doll... Your different, your worthless.. Someone like that, now they wouldn't give you the time of day if they were smart. Now, let me come out to play... And it may just be a different ending to this story. If I never amount to nothing in this life, perhaps in the after I can take care of you. I could feel a low growl trying to force its way from my vocals, and I did my best to force it back. Although I wouldn't be surprised if he heard it faintly. I could feel her wanting to over power my own body, and I did what I could to knock her back in place. She can't control me, only I control me. She could, however put thoughts into my head. That was her doing.
Then his deep voice found it's way into my auds, and that distant look faded only to lock all my attention onto him. My own auds twitched as he spoke of the balance that I obviously lack in... And I rolled my eyes heavenwards at his comment... Good job captain obvious, I wanted to blurt out but instead I double thought that note. And changed my mind. Perhaps being s smart ass wouldn't be the wise choice, seeing as how all he had to do was nudge me and I would plummet to certain doom.. Quite literally... Those nasty beasts are more than likely waiting beneath the murky surface for something of the sort to happen. Shit, I'd be a pretty easy meal. Not much you could do when it comes to fighting back against those scaly beasts.. Lets face it, I ain't super dog. I lack in unusual powers, and can't slice them open with laser vision. "What can I say? I lack in feminine grace.." |
As his massive paw slightly put pressure on the limb I was on, I could feel the branch shifting beneath me. Inhaling deeply I just sort of held my breath for a moment before slowly letting it out. What was going through his mind? What if this branch snaps in two? I am perfectly content plopped right here, the swamp beings can't reach me... Can they? Or wait a minute... Was he having a sneaky plan up his coat? Was he planning on pushing me right off this branch so the reptiles would be focused on me enough so he could make a break for it? That's probably what he's planning. Why would he want to help you, dear? Your far from a superb catch.. He'd have the right idea, using you as bait so he could save his own hide. She... was right... Why would he want to lend me a helping paw? Shit, not like we were best buds here. And I was certainly far from being eye candy. My pelt no longer held that certain luster to it. As the time grew, my pelt had slowly became course, and dull in color. My eyes no longer held that youthful sparkle that it should, instead they were empty, and sad. That tortured look in them. I had scars on my face.. Shit if it wasn't for my feminine voice, and slenderish built I could probably pass for a brute. I continued to watch him closely, more skeptical now.... What if he really was trying to help me? I was no good and figuring out what was going on. I usually assumed the worse, why not look at the carcass as half whole, rather then half eating? Even if he were coming to push me off, there wasn't much I could do to stop it. I wasn't in the right position to fight back even if I tried. It would end in a dramatic failure type manner. I followed his eyes to the water and also saw those deathly little eyes peer from the surface.. Every muscle in my body tightened as my own heart beat frantically against my chest as if trying to burst itself free. They were watching below now, needy eyes piercing straight threw us. Their targets were set. They were determined little bastards, they are! Well, maybe not little. Some of them were rather large! As he progressed more onto the branch, his next train of words were easily heard, and a sigh escaped my lips. If this branch breaks with the two of us on it, it would most certainly mean death for if not one of us then two. Finally when he spoke his next sentence of grabbing me by the scruff I couldn't help but widen my eyes. He was going to attempt to help me out. Was he crazy?! Was he really risking his own hide to help save mine? Who does that now a days? I was clearly in shock at first and then I realized.. I wasn't a pup, that shit was going to hurt me. Once I felt his jowls close around the loose part of my fur, I felt him begin to pull and I did my damnedest not to fight it... Despite the fact that it sure as hell sent pain running through my nerves. It was right at one of his final tugs I managed to get my own legs beneath me, all four paws on the branch. I could feel my legs shaking, and my own body wanting to fall off the now what seemed to be rather thin branch. "I think I got it.. For once my usually very certain tone changed to a more shaky, questioning voice. I didn't know if I really had it, I was balanced the best I could be at this point.. Although his still had his jaws clamped around my scruff. It Was snow we were so damned close I could piratically feel his body heat radiating against me like a furnace. His musky scent finding its way into my cold black nostrils.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,500,true] | [atrb=background,http://i312.photobucket.com/albums/ll347/MissJane_08/Wolf%20Charries/sarabi-middle.png] Sarabi waited for her to get her feet under her before he relaxed his grip. His jaws ached with the strain of her weight, and he'd definitely broken skin. The blood has rushed into his mouth and lingered on his tongue. Of all the things that Sarabi had an addiction to it was the taste of another blood, preferably Menari's, but the mere taste of another wolf's always triggered something within the tall brute. His eyes flashed and he could feel his jaw tremble as he carefully pushed her down. He wasn't going to let go till she was laying down on the branch. A position that would prevent, for the most part, from her falling. He was careful despite the flood of crimson that coated his mouth, the taste that always spoke of sex to him.
He waited till she got the hint, and laid down along the length of the thin branch before he let go of her scruff, almost reluctantly. Licking his jowls he peered down at her, red optics narrowed to fine ruby slits. It had been quite a long time since Sarabi has been with Menari, let alone intimately, and even more since he'd last bitten her and soaked in that crimson life. If anything both he and Mena were masochists, their lust for blood matched their lust for one another. Trouble was, she had up and disappeared just after their pups had been old enough to venture across Traum on their own, and he was left to try and figure them out. Castiel had been the only one he manged to keep around, but even then Cas disappeared as well, not wanting anything to do with his father.
”Stay down, and don't try to get up. Your high enough up that they can not get you, but not safe enough from a fall if you move wrong.” He said, watching her closely. His gaze however was not on her face, but on the bloody patch that coated her neck. He could still taste her on his tongue, and it was all he could do not to lean forward. Taking a sudden deep breath he almost groaned out loud. Though the foul scent of the swamp swarmed him, the scent of her blood was close behind. He knew no doubt that the alligators would be even more eager now that the tang of blood was on the air. They were used to the foul scent of the swamp, so the salty sweet scent of Fetisha's blood would be a godsend.
He wanted nothing more than to get behind her and wrap his this paws around her hips. The image in his head had him closing his eyes and a low growl lifting from his chest. That thought was so not helping him try and not attack her and drink her dry of blood. Menari had, when she'd first met him, claimed he was a vampire, and then he had turned her on to his twisted game. She enjoyed his blood as much as he enjoyed blood in general. They were sick and twisted creatures but what caught their fancy stuck.
Forcing his eyes open he looked down at her, ears pressing forwards as he forced himself to meet her eyes and not stare at the crimson stain on her pale white fur. He forced himself to think about something else besides the blood and the scent that overwhelmed his senses. The mere tang wanted to drag him back down into that sense of self that he enjoyed being hurt, enjoyed hurting others just to reach the ultimate high, and the ultimate release. So instead he thought back and the only thing that came to mind was that unfamiliar scent that had clung to her before his ivory fangs had broken skin and spilled her sweet blood across his tongue.
He was able to pick out a little information on the scent, it wasn't hers, it belonged to another, one that Sarabi identified as pack. He himself was a rogue, well figuratively. He was currently working with Kirill to find his son and help give any information he could. Technically Sarabi belonged to Lucifer's, but no one but Kirill himself knew of this, and, for the most part, Sarabi had never set foot within the wastelands that belonged to the pack. Meaning no familiar scent clung to him, he was a wraith, a nobody that could get information as a rogue, and no one would be the wiser. ”You belong to a pack? What would bring you all the way out here when half the pack lands hold far more interesting places than this eye sore?” He said, forcing a slight smirk onto his handsome maw. ”Most of the Free lands are also quite more eye-catching than this place. Not to mention its a death trap.” He added, lifting a wolven brow as he peered down at her. He had no real room to talk, he was in fact sitting in a tree in said death trap, but he only had the free lands to work with and this one tended to be a little more deserted when he wanted to be alone and dwell in his hellish thoughts. He had to face it. Menari was gone, and she wasn't coming back, she'd lied to him, hurt him, and broken every promise she'd ever made to him. It was her who was always on his thoughts, and thinking of her only proved to piss him off.
Audits flicked back as Sarabi's ruby gaze found its way back to Fetisha's scruff and the ominous crimson stain that tainted her pale snowy coat. His mouth watered at the thought of the blood, of the life that was slowly seeping from the puncture wounds he'd created. However accidental, it gave him a small thrill that he had hurt her, that he'd caused her to bleed. Before he realized what he was doing, a low ominous snarl broke free from his throat, lips curling back as his eyes flashed in the silvery rays of the high moon. He leaned over, his growl a warning for her not to move, due to her own safety and his own desire. His nose buried in the thick mass of her fur, the blood staining his pitched maw before his tongue snaked out and stole the still fresh liquid.
