Ember I swept my deep blue gaze across the meadow. It seemed familar, but I knew I haven't been here before. The mist clung to the grass. Oh, I hate wetness. With a sigh, I walked out to the middle of the field, wincing when every drop of water touched my paws. Once I reached the middle, I lowered myself to lay down. With my paws tucked neatly beneath my feet, I gazed off towards the east, where the sun was rising and thought. How was I gonna get to the Renegade pack lands? I didn't even know where I was. Auburn wasn't even with me right now. It would be stupid to leave him alone here, knowing what I knew about this place. Auburn had taken off earilier, saying that he was going to hunt. But that was very early this morning, and I was getting worried. With a frown on my face, I looked back from where I came in this meadow. If I could just find a few landmarks that I knew.... I resloved then to ask the next wolf I saw where the heck I was. Until then, I'll just lay back and rest on this soft grass. My eyes slowly closed.

Thick paws pressed against the icy blades of grass. Each carefully slow step created the fainted crackle, as if even the world refused to allow him subtlety. The world did right in forcing even his careful quiet steps even the most minimum of sounds, for such a beast could slip through shadows like a wraith and sneak up on you without even the slightest notice. He was a ghost, a shadow, and as quiet as one as well. And like any ghost he seemed to bring with him the chill of death, as if it clung to him because only it knew the complete and utter truth.
He moved with ease through the thick fog, its vapor creating a thin shield that no one could see through. Hear him they could, even slightly, but they lacked the key factor of sight in this stuff. The dim light of early dawn helped his thick pitched body to blend with the darker shadows that the faint light couldn't yet chase away. It was the perfect time of day, the moments before twilight, before the world lit up with light and the golden glow of the early sun. Where night and shadows, of the horrors still lurked close at hand. He was a part of those horrors, even if his pretty appearance made company think otherwise.
Tall pointed audits twitched slightly taking in the sound of a soft breath upon the still dawn air. It was a distance off, or so he believed, so he knew he was still well covered by the fog that surrounded him in thick pale vapor. He carefully turned his course, following the faintest sound of breathing. He had to stop ever couple of moments and listen for the sound of his thick heavy paws crushing the ice stiff grass was almost like the sound of a gunshot in the quiet dawn. His teeth gritted with irritated, the fury that was building that he, of all others could not force his steps into silence. He was a creature that prided himself on the talent and the weather itself, which pained an old injury, was ruining everything he had been trained to accomplish
Silvery pools shifted upwards, taking in the lightening sky as the sun began its slow accent over the world. It had not even reached the horizon and it was still quite a ways off. He preferred the night, liked to be able to hide within the shadows the world created when the sky lost its bright companion. He felt the breeze, faint but chilled. The air itself felt like ice, and he knew that if the clouds in the distance decided to present them with a storm, it would most definitely snow. He knew not because of the chilled air, or the freezing wind, or even the icy blades of grass, but because his left hind leg was throbbing with sharp pain. It was a weakness he despised, but the cold hurt him, at least, it hurt that part of him. The old break, once bed ridding him for weeks, hadn't healed all that well, and though his beloved Raziel had taken care of him after that battle, a battle in which he had been the victor, he still despised that she'd had to do such a degrading act as service him like a common weakling.
Wolven lips curled back at the thought. He adored Raziel, his half sister, more than anything. She was the only creature on this god forsaken earth that deserved to be at his side, the only one who understood him, who knew his desires and allowed him such freedom to make them come to pass. She was indeed a godsend one that could never be replaced. Of course he had hidden from her the fact the weather pained his old injury, he didn't want her to fret, though that could be hardly the word for anything Raziel ever did. No, he wouldn't put any amount of worry in her head, so he would deal with it and work on warming the muscle later.
It was then however, that he almost, and quite literally, stumbled over the female laying in the icy grass. He'd stopped himself as her scent overwhelmed his senses, and just barely stopped himself from actually stepping on her. His eyes narrowed dangerously for a moment, angry that such a foul being would lay in his path. Then he realized the sound of her breath must have been what he'd been following before his thoughts had run away with him. He quickly put on one of his many masked, faking, with ease and mastery one of bewildered surprise as he peered down at the female.
”This is quite interesting. It seems, m'dear, you've laid directly in my path. I very well nearly fell over you, and by the look of it, I fear I'd have crushed you.” He said in a tone reserved for those having been mildly startled. A soft chuckle parted his wolven lips and he quickly adopted another look, one with dark intent, of one who knew just how to show a female pleasure. ”What is a pretty little thing like you, laying in the middle of a field anyway?” He asked, his voice having lowered to whisper, and with it was laced with a tone only a lover could use.

Ember My eyes jerked open as I felt a shadow come above me. So close to falling asleep, I was startled. There was this huge black wolf, standing right above. A black shadow. My eyes must have showed my fright, because this wolf started to talk. ”This is quite interesting. It seems, m'dear, you've laid directly in my path. I very well nearly fell over you, and by the look of it, I fear I'd have crushed you.” Oh my go, what if he had fallen on me? That would have been...quite bad. It's a good thing he didn't. I quickly got up, my blue eyes following him closely. I've always been so wary of wolves, mostly males, since that last time. Always the careful one, or at least I tried, I bowed my head and made my eyes looked sorry and weak. Hopefully, he would think I'm too weak to mess with. Otherwise, I'm dead, from the looks of him. My eyes were downcast, making sure not to look into his, to not make a challenge, even through it hurt my pride to do so. I kept my tail low and loose. Oh, this was hurting my pride so much. But I was too small and too slow to do anything else. My short legs were not made for speed. " I'm sorry, " I said, my voice low and soft. I quickly darted a glance at him. His eyes, they were the color of, almost like ice. At least to me. Against the darkness of his coat, they shone. I quickly lowered my eyes.
