This is just a list of words that I've seen misused on nearly every wolf rp I've ever been in, from neopets to various forums. I've posted this simply for reference, and am in no way, shape, or form dictating that any of the below words are somehow forbidden. Merely attempting to shed a little light for those that may not be aware of the orgins of such terms.
Ears, Eyes, Legs etc:
Audit:
1. A check of financial accounts. 2. An efficiency check. 3. To sit in on a class without expectations of receiving credit.
Auds: the acronym for the Association of Union Democracy. Otherwise, this is not a word.
Towers: A tall building or fortress.
Globe: 1. Map of the earth on a sphere. 2. Earth 3. A hollow, spherical object 4. Part of a royal figure’s regalia.
Optics: The study of light
Optical: 1. Of vision, relating to the senses of light. 2. Physics of visible light.
Bifocal: With two focal lengths. Also a type of eye wear.
Pool: 1. A swimming pool 2. A puddle. Can be used as an adjective describing the eyes but cannot function as a synonym.
Pillars: Column used for support or decoration
Column: Synonym for pillar
Gender terms:
Fae: An old-English term for the fae-folk, more commonly known as fairies/faeries. Also an acronym for a Fuel-Air-Explosive.
Femmora: Not a word in the English language. Femora, however, is a word; but it happens to be a bone and not a gender-term.
Femme: A French term for woman or girl. In the English language, however, it is slang for a lesbian and the opposite term of butch.
Brute: 1. Someone who is brutal. 2. A literary term for an animal other than human.
Commonly misused as a synonym for male.
