Oh how glorious the weather had become. No more of that hot and humidity of the summer and fall. The winter was such a wonderful time. Snow was a beauty that many creatures refused to see. It let everyone know that the past year had come and finally was leaving. Many animals had settled down for the passing season in hopes that they would be able to completely ignore the cold. Some, however, completely embraced the season. The frost coloured brute known as Socrates was one of those snow loving beasts. His pelt almost blended with the snow making him hard to pick out on a hill side. But his mind was not on the weather at that time. It was on a femme that he had met in passing not too long ago. Down by the water's edge he had seen her beauty and was even fortunate enough to have a conversation with the rare radiant maiden. Oh how he wished that their time together could have lasted longer than the few hours they spent along the ashened shores. He could not get his mind off her no matter how hard he tried. How he wished that their paths would cross again. But then he wondered if she would even remember him. A sigh escaped his large maw as he continued to think. How could she remember him? He was not but a loner in the vast world while she actually had a purpose. Wanting to join one of the claimed pack lands. He wondered if she had been accepted yet or not. Shaking his head slightly yet another sigh managed to escape. His eyes lifted off the snow covered earth beneath his paws. Aqua orbs scanned the area. There were sounds here and there that caught his attention. One was a squirrel trying to escape before Socrates caught on to him. Another was that of falling snow off the surrounding trees. So many different sites and smells but none were really familiar. He could not help but glance back at his tracks that he had made. Remembering that not too long ago those tracks walked side by side with another. He cursed himself for a moment as he turned his head back forward. Why had they separated? He grumbled softly. In the back of his mind he wondered if she was thinking about him. Once more he started to move not wanting to stand in one place for too long. Night would fall soon and he needed to find a place to hunker down for the night. [/blockquote]

Misa had wandered aimlessly for a few days since their meeting. She had not returned to the Warrior’s lands since then, migrating about the rouge lands, praying for a glimpse of the white gentle giant. She had thought she had caught glimpses of him several times, but every time she had searched further for him, they had turned out to be mere tricks her mind was playing on her. Unless, of course, he had just been running past and her own legs had not been fast enough to catch him.
But perhaps her hopes were too high. She so wanted to see him again, but she did not trust her heart, she knew that she really liked this wolf…perhaps more than just what she fancied to be a crush. She did not yet know, but she was determined to find out. And so she would find him again. Or that was the reason she gave herself to justify finding him again.
The snow fell about her, and coated her fur in a light, white film that lightened her fur even further. Her green eyes scanned the area. The forest was barren of foliage, the leaves having fallen off the trees some time ago. Instead, their branches were coated with white, icy crystals. It added a certain chilly beauty to the place. As if to punctuate her observation on the point, her body was racked with a little shiver, and her teeth clacked together several times, making her realize just how cold she actually was.
She almost walked past him, her small footsteps silent with the padding of snow beneath them, but the turning of his head caught her eye. She froze, her lips pulling back for a fraction of a second, before his scent reached her nostrils and her eyes fully recognized him. She found him at last. Her knight in faded armour.
Quietly, she approached him, her eyes bright and hopeful as she called out softly, ”Socrates?” She prayed he would remember her. She saw no reason as to why he would, but she knew that she would have never forgotten him, and would have searched for him still. She just prayed he had not tossed her memory aside like that of a piece of trash. She moved even closer, before pausing about five or six feet away, her eyes still staring at him like she had not seen him in a lifetime and needed time to take their meeting in.

For the longest time the earth remained silent. Even though Socrates was large he still made little to no noise as he moved. He enjoyed listening to the silence of the snow fall. It calmed him. Relaxed him to the point of almost being tired. As he moved, something caught his attention. There was a scent on the wind. That of a female. It was all too familiar to him. Before his brain had the time to realize who it was words were spoke from around him. His gaze moved quickly to where he heard his name being spoke. There she stood. Misa. The beautiful femme that he had met down on the shore. Whom he had been thinking about since they had parted ways. Without his control, his tail flopped from side to side with happiness. He wanted to run over to where she stood but he controlled himself. Though it was hard. "Greetings Misa..." he said dipping his maw to her out of respect. "Fancy meeting you here." He did not want to seem to anxious about seeing her. It worried him that it might just chase her off. So he held back his excitement to once more looking upon her beauty. "It has been far far too long, how have you been?" he questioned now moving towards her. That scent was intoxicating to him. He could not help but smile as he drew closer to where she stood. Now they were only inches apart. A small breeze picked up and fluffed his fur making him look slightly larger than he already was. Quickly, he shook himself so his coat once more laid flat to his body. There was a smile still set on his soft features. She had been one of the few wolves that had not run away from him because of his looks. She actually was willing to get to know him for who he was. Never once had she jumped to conclusions about him. She had this air about her that made him feel warm and protective. There was nothing more that he wanted than to keep her safe. To be around her. He regretted nothing in his life except for this. Leaving her side. Now, perhaps, he would be able to make amends for that action. [/blockquote]

He was smiling, and she smiled in return, a large, tooth-filled, wolfish smile, but a happy one nonetheless. Her paw scraped at the ground beneath her as she restrained the urge to run over to him, like an excitable pup. She had to keep at least a bit of dignity within her. And besides, she would never want him to think her a fool, which is surely what would happen if she had done such a thing.
”Greetings, Misa…” His head dipped and she dipped hers in return, ”Fancy meeting you here.” Socrates did not seem to excited to see her, even with the tail wag when he had first turned to see that it was indeed her, and not another femme who somehow happened to k now his name. ”Yes indeed, it is good to see you again.” She offered a small smile to him, her eyes glowing with something foreign, but a good emotion all the same.
”It has been far too long, how have you been?” He began to move towards her, and she took a few steps in his direction as well, and when they both stopped moving, they were mere inches apart, and she could feel the heat radiating from his fur. ”I have been faring well, but things have recently looked up.” She blushed and looked away, fearing she had been too bold, but regained her composure and asked, ”And how have you been, Socrates? Well, I hope.”
The breeze that caused Socrates’ fur to fluff up to make him look larger sent a shiver through her body, and she let out a small laugh at the look of Socrates, larger than ever, and his fur all poofy. She watched the wolf with eyes that drank in his appearance, as if she was afraid she would forget some miniscule detail about him. Her ears were alert and perked in his direction, drinking in every word he said, and her nostrils flared with each breath inward, as if to permanently imprint his scent within her nostrils.
She prayed that they would not part again and she looked at him and asked, ”Have you had any luck with finding that family of yours?” Even though she knew it was rude, and slightly cruel, she hoped the answer would be no, so she could stay with him forever. It was something that just seemed so right to her. She felt so safe, and happy, like she could relax and put her guard down even in these troublesome times.

As soon as she spoke, he felt his face go hot as the blood rushed to his cheeks. He made a mental note of how he was happy that his fur was so thick it blocked out the tinting in his features. After all, how many big males blushed at the sight and sound of a femme? Not many that he could count at least. He absorbed her lyrics like it was poetry. His eyes studied her smaller frame. It was such a gift to be able to gaze upon her beauty once more. It felt as though he had won some amazing prize or that the stars had lined up perfectly for them to meet again in this life time. The feeling of a smile spread on his lips and seemed to be still set without his control. How he had longed to be near her again. As he continued to listen, he heard her give him a question and he nodded his dome slightly. "I have been fairing well as well. Though my travels have once more led me down the path of being alone," he replied with a small sigh. "It is truly a gift to receive your company once more, m'lady." It was true. Sure others had crossed his path both male and female but none that caught his interest in any way, shape, or form. There had been only one on his mind and that was the femme that was now standing in front of him. His brow cocked slightly at her last question. He doubted highly that she meant anything harmful by it or spiteful. After all, it was a question that had recently crossed his mind about her. She was an amazing being in more than one way it seemed like he was chasing a dream to think that another male had not come along and asked her to be his mate. Though he wanted it not to be true. After the question was finished being asked, a small laugh bubbled up through his vocals and managed to erupt through his maw. "I have not sought out any other fae's to start a family, Misa," he confessed. "My eyes and heart already have their mind made up of who I would like to try and court." He closed his mouth and bit his tongue lightly. Maybe she would not pick up on the massive hint that he had just given her. Or if she had he wondered how she would react to such a thing. "Please... Forgive me... That was rather a bold statement," he added quickly hoping that she could forgive him for acting so rash. His heart was thinking too quickly for his mouth to stop the words that had to come out. "How about you?" he questioned attempting to change the subject or divert it towards her. "Have you been accepted into a pack? Or found someone you would like to be tied down with?"[/blockquote]

She could feel him watching her, his eyes studying her closely. Her own eyes dropped to look at the snow momentarily, the flesh about her cheeks burning. She was happy that he found her beautiful, but she was still a modest wolf, and knew she had flaws. Finally, she found herself unable to keep her eyes turned down, and they moved, almost as if upon their own accord, back to Socrates’ larger frame. He was muscular and large, but a very handsome wolf indeed. His size, when they first had met, was extremely intimidating, but she was glad to have had the mental determination to get past that intimidation, otherwise she doubted she would...feel this way.
"I have been fairing well as well. Though my travels have once more led me down the path of being alone," A small sigh escaped from between his lips as he continued to speak in his eloquent manner, "It is truly a gift to receive your company once more, m'lady." She blushed again and nodded, ”As is yours, Socrates. A very nice gift indeed.” She had such the urge to step closer to him, it was a yearning, in a way. A string that was slowly being pulled in, attached to her heart and making her wish to move closer. But, for fear of rejection, or of something else, she was not quite sure, she stayed where she was, after all, it was only mere inches away.
She heard the laughter bubble from his chest and she let out her own, small, nervous chuckle as well. ”I have not sought out any other faes to start a family, Misa. My eyes and heart already have their mind made up of who I would like to try and court.” Had he found someone else? Her eyes studied his face, and she could tell that he was embarrassed. Had he meant...her? ”Please...forgive me....that was a rather bold statement.” It was, was it not? Her mind was found to be racing. He wished to court her. He felt the same way. Quickly, she let out a scrambled reply, ”No harm done, there is nothing to be forgiven.”
”How about you? Have you been accepted into a pack? Or found someone you would like to be tied down with?” And so he had diverted the same question to her. She knew it was coming, and this time, she had something to say. ”I have been accepted into the Warriors, yes. Serena and her son, Wintersleep, have decided to place me upon border patrol within their ranks. And, I have found someone I would like to be tied down with. And, I think he feels the same way. Because he very recently told me that he knows who he wishes to court. But I fear I may be reading into it wrong.”
She looked up at him, hoping he would catch on to the huge hint she had just dropped, and not miss it and lose all faith or hope. She did not want this to be a wolf that walked out of her life, surely not. That would not just break her heart, but destroy it. She knew it was something she would not deal with well. So she would press on, and hope and pray he would understand.

His tail swayed slightly behind him as he controlled himself from wagging it so he did not look overly excited about once more speaking to Misa. Every word she spoke he let flow into his audits like they were music. It was such a pleasantry to be around her. His soft eyes drifted over her taking in her sight once more. She was everything that he had remembered. Just as beautiful as she had been on that ashened shore. He was happy, however, that they were no longer near the water's edge. Though he was not easily frightened by things water was one that he had been taught to stay away from. "The warriors, eh? Must be nice to have a pack family," he replied dipping his maw towards her as a smile spread on his lips. He was happy for this turn of events. "And for them to have you on boarder patrol they must already trust you quite deeply to have entrusted you with such a task. Especially, when the rumor of war drifts with the coming wind..." he finished that thought with a sigh. War was never something that he enjoyed. He had been through one before and many wolves he had cared about were taken from him too early in their lives. But he paused and continued to listen to Misa speak. He could not help but let his tail wag a little harder at her words. It was him that she was speaking about, right? Or was he just being overly hopeful in the situation. No. She had made it too obvious to him. He took a brave step closer to his companion and looked down at her with his gentle eyes. Boldly, he reached out towards her lightly rubbing the side of her neck with him maw and let out a soft whimper. "Misa, I would be honored to be able to court you. To show you who I am and all that I can offer you," he said softly as he retracted his head back so he could once more be face to face with her. He wanted her to want to be with him. Never would he force something on her that she was not wanting or not ready for. Perhaps, he was moving far too quickly. Realizes this, he took a small step backwards. Her paw kneaded at the snow in nervous anticipation, she had said what she did…now all she needed to do was to wait for a reaction. Granted, she feared what the reaction would be…after all, she could have completely misread what he was trying to say. And oh, if she had, only grief and embarrassment would come to follow. And those two emotions, those two things were two things that she dreaded more than anything else that she had yet to experience. Her mind had been saved from the taints of death, for the most part, she blocked out most of what she could remember, but she still knew pain.
”The Warriors, eh? Must be nice to have a pack family.” He smiled and she shrugged, ”Yes, yes it is nice to have a place I can call home…but I fear I have not met many of my fellow pack members…I have spent most of my time in the rouge lands these days.” She blushed, her flesh burning and hoping that it was not obvious what her reasons were, however, knowing the fact that she was easily read, somewhat like a book, she knew that the hope was useless, and that he probably had seen the reasons on her face.
”And for them to have you on Border Patrol, they must already trust you quite deeply to have entrusted you with such a task. Especially, when the rumour of war drifts with the coming wind…” A sigh escaped from his lips and she shrugged, ”I think it is mostly because Wintersleep knew I was not the type to enjoy being stuck around the dens, but he knew I was a bit too small to be tossed out on the battlefield. But you might be right. I really do not know.”
His tail began to wag harder after she had spoken the words, and her mind began to race with excitement, ”Yes, yes, please, it is about you! It is!” She thought, as if driving the thought towards him, as if willing him to hear her and to believe. Then, he stepped closer and her eyes began to shine even brighter. Then his neck outstretched and rubbed the side of her neck, which she moved ever so slightly as if to press closer to him as he whimpered, ”Misa, I would be honoured to be able to court you. To show you who I am and all that I can offer you.”
His head pulled back, and she was a little disappointed by this fact, however, he was still close. Then, he stepped backwards, and she could understand why, but she did not want him to step away, so instead, she mirrored the step and pressed her own maw into his fur, letting out a small noise and replying, ”And I would be happy to see who you really are, to…be with you.” She hesitated saying those last three words, praying they were not too bold. Her maw rested against his fur for a moment longer before she moved her head to look at him.
