The wind was always kind, carrying any and all scents to the one whom seeked, who searched hard enough, And Masquerade was always one who found it. The warm, welcomed smell of fresh water crossed his muzzle, and he took it in with a pleased look. Though his emotionless face was cold, his eyes were easily pleased on times like this. Though the sun was setting on the horizon, the heat was somewhat overdone.
As black pads kissed the ground at a slow trot, green eyes slid from side to side, observing the surroundings. He was somewhere near the creek, and found himself relieved so. As it came into view, he hungrily gazed at it. Wit no enthusiasm, he stepped to it, panting. As a salmon hued tongue rolled from his mouth, it lapped at the water selfishly. He did not look ungrateful as he drank, nor piggish.
Suddenly feeling better, he stood up and yawned. Finding his way to a tree, he sat himself under it, andlayed down. Putting his head in between his paws, he yawned again. CLosing and opening his green eyes, he stared into the bitterness of nothingness, boredom easily declared on his face.

Life can be as sweet or as harsh as you make it. I've learned that. I've also learned that if you have a feeling that you've been somewhere before, then you've most likely have.
At this very moment, I was confused. Very, very confused. The sense of being here before was very, very strong. It dulled my usually sharp senses. So I didn't relise there was a wolf in front of me till the last second.
I was quite a distance away, but getting that close to a wolf without me relising was dangerous. Extremely. I sighed and walked closer, every sense straining to hear, see, and smell everything. Quite a task. But I could do it.
When I could see the unknown wolf's face, bells started ringing in my head. Creamy fur, the color of dirty snow. Why was that familar to me? I shook my head, the memory fading. I noted the boredom on the wolf's face, and the way he held himself when he layed down, opening and closing his brillant green eyes.
Green eyes.....another faint memory ringing through my head. I closed my sliver-blue eyes and breathed deeply in and out. Why were these faint memories coming just when I didn't need them? When I was just trying to find a mission of my own?
I took a few steps towards the wolf, the wind blowing my scent to him. I was still quite a few yards away from him, but, hey, gotta be at least a little social sometimes, right? I took another deep breath.
" Hello, " I said, my voice timid and weak. Well, maybe not quite that weak. I shook off the falling snow that was collecting on my light grey coat.

It wasn't long before Masquerade opened his eyes to scent a wolf around him. Standing up and shaking his pelt, blinking tired eyes. His green orbs were full of pride, yet had no real emotion to it. Breathing lightly, his breath was a light fog in front of his face, a cloud of himself. He let his jaw open in a yawn as his body stretched.
Looking up he saw a white female a few yards from him. He cocked his head. She seemed tense, in the least. She was large, and her eyes were an icy blue. Masquerade watched her movements. She seemed to have seen something in Masquerade, and somehow it stirred a memory in himself. It reminded him so much of how his father had often looked at him. But Masquerade didn't need that kind of memory. He shook his head, and heard a shaky hello from the loner.
Salutations, miss. He smiled lightly, yet it was an empty smirk. It didn't hold anything he needed. I don't bight, just so you know. He replied. She shook her coat, and Masquerade waited patiently for any reply.

Salutations, miss. I nodded, my gaze roving around to look at everything but him. Those unnatural bright green eyes were so familar.....but so empty. I shook my head, confused. Never before have I felt so lost, so out of place. Except..... It was a dim memory, but it had resurfaced. I know felt like I was there, it was so vivid. There were a bunch of wolves, discussing among themselves. I felt like I belonged with them. a name floated out of reach. Renegrade...... I snapped back to the present with a gasp. I felt like I was held underwater, and was now resurfacing to breathe fresh air. I hoped this wolf wouldn't noticed my behavior, or think that I was weak. I don't bite, just so you know. I swallowed. I wasn't afraid of anyone, except myself. And my wierd strange memories just floating out of reach. Like tempting meat, teasing, held just a little to high for me to reach. Focus, Whisper, focus. I chanted to myself, trying to live in the present like I use to always do. But since I've come to the island it's been harder and harder to do that. I shivered in the cold air, remembering that I wasn't alone out here. " Um, this may seem like a weird question, but do you know anything about something called Renegrade? " I asked politly, focusing on this task of asking nicly enough to not offend him, but not too nice so as to seem kind.

The female seemed troubled by him. His eyebrows lifted up expectantly, and his orbs glowed with a sudden bright hue. She shook her head, and Masquerade snorted. Please, miss, is there something wrong with me? He asked. The words were almost harsh, almost having a cruel hue. But there's a difference between almost and is. And a huge one. She seemed. . . Very tense when she looked at him.
She almost flinched when he said he wouldn't bite! What was wrong with her? Why was she so timid, so afraid of him? Did she know he was an Order wolf? But even if he was, he had a more sweet side, a innocence he was about to give up.
So, she wanted to know about the Renegade? All I know is it's a pack. Sorry, not much of a help. I don't care much for any pack but my own. Masquerades voice was somewhat empty now, no real hue in it.

Please, miss, is there something wrong with me? His voice was thr slightest bit harsh, the slightest bit cruel. I kept shaking my head. What would I say? No, nothing's wrong with you, it's just that your eyes remind of something and I've been having wierd memories lately. Yeah, right. " No, " I said softly. But there was something wrong. Underneath, he seemed to have an undeniable wrongness. He's....done something. I could tell in his suddenly intense green eyes. All I know is it's a pack. Sorry, not much of a help. I don't care much for any pack but my own. There was a flatness to his voice, a deadness. I regonized it, the tone. Another dim memory flashed by, too dim for me to understand. I grabbed onto something he said, just to keep him talking as I walked slowly towards him. " Oh? What is your pack? " I said, matching my voice to his flatness for the oh, and then sudden intense intrest for the rest of the sentace. I knew I had to do something. Or else he'll freeze over. I've seen it happen. Haven't I? Suddenly, I was unsure again. For just a minute I knew what to do, and now I was confused again. We both need help.
